Kathy Lang

The village of Ripley has suspended their utilities clerk pending the outcome of an investigation from the state auditor's office.

Kathy Lang has worked for the village for more than 10 years but was recently placed on administrative leave when some routine checks by the auditor's office discovered some possible irregularities in the village records. State auditors expect to be meeting with village officials on November 16th.

No criminal charges have been filed.

I was waiting for someone to post something about this. What does everyone think about this? Myself, I am completely shocked. I heard possibly she embezzled up to 27,000 dollars!!

Shocked? She must not have bought you anything then! I called this 2 summers ago...you don't drive 2 brand new cars, have cook-outs for the entire city, a house full of brand new furniture, and pay your son's lawyer $25,000 to keep him out of jail and another $15,000 to get him out of jail on a clerk's salary at the utility company...come on now, anybody could have figured that one out a long time ago! You might want to gather up all your utility receipts for the past however many years she has been working and have the utility company verify your usage and your charges...you might be owed several hundreds of dollars!

can we really gather up our utility bills and make someone verify our usage or has all that been buggered up so that you cant really verify anything, if there is a way to do this tell me where to take my bills to. because my bills have been way too high for years now.

First of all, if you don't have your bills, the utility company HAS to give you copies. Secondly, you need to look at your bills and verify that the usage corresponds with the total of your bill. I have a close friend in Ripley and he is going to bring me his bills so I can look at what needs to be done...once I see them, I will let you know what you need to do. He said the same thing as you - his bills were outrageous and weird times of the year and one time, they accused him of not paying his bill and cut off his electric and he had proof that he paid it...so, try and remember if you had any incidents like that too and jot them down. Get your bills together...I will be back. I don't know if Ms. Lang was overcharging or just not logging in the correct bill payment, but, whatever it was, she was stealing everybody's money...you'll get it back, just get your paperwork together...you aren't the only one who is going to pursue this.

it is definetly not up to any of us to judge this woman... yes i know her and i have always liked her and gotten along with her and hate to see her go through this but, i, along with my whole family has her back no matter what and i think we all should step back and take a word from our parents and if we have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all. we should judge not

So, your parents taught you to not say anything when someone is stealing money from you? Ok,,,good luck with that! I have a post-office box you can send your next utility payment to if you want it!

nothing has been proven yet so leave her alone, how do you know how much she paid? or how much she makes? you know quite a bit NBetween so lets see what happens remember you are innocent until proven guilty

By the time Tripley Ripley audits you, use that as a sign! This chick thought she had it made with dating a cop (until he dumped her after she bought him a truck and furnished him an apartment). Her salary is public knowledge, but, if you have any working experience at all, you know that clerks aren't going to be ballin anytime soon! If you had any work experience at all, you know it takes more than a clerk's salary to have all that she does and to spend on other people all that she does...sorry if you are one of those people; might need to start looking for a job.

yea she along with the rest of us are not perfect but i know that her jeep is a salvage title and her sons lawyer bill was high but not 25000 you guys have all this time to comment on everything on this trash site so take some time and atleast research your statements a little before you get on here and talk trash about everyones personal matters.

Kathy Lang does not have a personal matter...she has a public matter - hasn't she bought you a TV?

A big heart and an about to be smaller wallet! And no, I don't have anything better to do than to "jus do the damn thang!" If the heat is to hot in the kitchen, get out! She's a theif who stole money from the people in Ripley for her own pleasure...seems she has a "big heart" all for herself.

Well it sounds like you don't know Kathy. I have known her for 30 years and she has the biggest heart there is. People makes mistakes. But everybody is talking about it and it hasn't even been proven.

Stealing money is not a mistake...spraying hair spray under your arms when you thought it was deodorant, is a mistake.

Like I would even consider having a theif for a friend! Or better yet, a theif with a son who just got out of prison for Agg Robery, Buglary, Assault and Theft! My friends make theives like her pay the consequence of being a criminal. If there isn't anything to say about somebody, then I wouldn't have anything to say now would I? She sure don't need people like me!

All i can say to you is God judges not you. Brandon is a good person and yes he has done some stupid shit but you act like you have never done nothing maybe that is why you won't put your name on here.

Seriously, how f'n stupid are you? Where's your damn name Friend of Kathy's? I don't ACT like I haven't done anything, I HAVEN'T done anything as stupid as steal! And, I love Spanky, most times, now what? And God won't be judging this, Brown County Courts will be. Read the 10 commandments, let me know if it says something in there about God not judging you if you break one of them and let me know if it says it's ok by him if you blantly steal, ok?
