Raising beef on a factory farm is also a nightmare for the environment(methane gas)... also very unfair to the animals.

Im happy for you buddy. Ive been that way since Jan. 1 this year. I could never Imagine going back. Its Really hard to Find Vegan Friendly Places to eat around here. Do you have any Suggestions? I Usually Go to the farmers market once a week or so. Or look for Vegetarian recipes on the net.

There's a new bagel eatery opening up next Friday beside the downtown movie theatre where the pizza place used to be. Nice people run it. I can't wait to try their tempeh reuben. They have other veggie offerings too. Not just vegetarian though.

Uh... i could care less what you eat or why BUT you need to get your facts straight. Steroids are not pumped into the meat to make last longer. They are given to the animal before its killed to make it more "meatier". Growth hormone is also given for the same reason.
Do you drink milk? If so, then you are ingesting the exact same "steroids and growth hormone" you avoid by not eating meat.
