I personally don't care how they got there or why they got there, its a sad life when you spend your days on a street corner with a sign. Does it matter how they got there or why? I just thank God that I am not in whatever situation they are in that brought them to that corner.

If they are undereducated, alcoholics, depressed, lazy, unskilled, or whatever their reason...their life sucks enough that they spend their days being yelled at, cussed at, having things thrown on them, etc. for whatever money they get. Do you people really think thats an easy way to live?

For me, I don't care WHY they are there I will show them some compassion, a friendly smile, and give them some money if I have it. If my random act of kindness to a stranger brightens someone's day it isn't going to kill me or break my bank account. I'm one that sees beyond what is standing in front of me. I thank God that he spared me a life that would bring me to standing on a corner...no matter what the reason.

I have a brother that but for the grace of God would be out there on that corner. We grew up with abuse, alcoholism, and broken spirits. My brother never recovered and sank into that alcoholism and it has destroyed him, his family, his brain cells, his ability to hold a job, a home, anything. BUT he has the most giving spirit, biggest heart, and an immense need to please those that love him. None of those things will pay the bills. If not for family he would be one of those people on the street corner that you would be yelling at and throwning things at.

Thank you God for giving my brother to me so I can see past the obvious and love him for who he is, treasure his smile when someone is kind to him, and take care of him for his is socially crippled and that is just as crippling as any other handicap.

Try that random act of kindness...it won't kill ya.

I agree with Blessed , I cant believe people would get so upset about a few panhandlers , you can give to them or not thats up to you. Just be glad your not sitting there. And we need to get all the children off of here that dont know what their talking about!!!

Thanks Lilly O. If I ever caught my daughter insulting, throwing things at, or in any way disrespecting a panhandler or anyone else for that matter I would be outraged. She was brought up to look past the exterior of EVERY human being and try to see whats inside. If she felt strongly about not giving to someone on the corner then I hope I have taught her to have enough grace to just smile and keep on going and thank God that it is not her on that corner, or her mother, or anyone else she knows.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Taurus

Social situations bring out the best in you right now, especially if they encourage you to be a free spirit and you don't have to worry about being on your best behavior all the time. In fact, you'll welcome the chance to kick over the traces in some way or remind certain people that you're a much more complex personality than they sometimes give you credit for.
