White teens with noose threaten black student

It is such a shame that things like this still happen. My prayers go out to that poor girl and her family. I am very disappointed at how this was handled. How can they say they are unsure if it was a hate crime? I think those people need to sit in on some of their own history classes! To only give those boys in school suspension is an insult!!!

Aren't you aware that racism doesn't exist in Catawba County?(That is what I have been told by several people over the past few months) So, the noose was just a joke, and should just be laughed off....

funny that the principal hasnt said a word. didnt bother to contact the parents of any of the children involved either. She should be dealth with also for not taking the time to inform anyone..

I think that they should be treated just the same had they brandished any other form of weapon. Had they shook a gun in her face or pulled out a knife there would be no question. And .... Undecided whether it's a hate crime or bullying? Seriously??? They didn tell the poor girl she was fat or ugly, they made a joke about hanging her. I think when you consider they aren't all one color it's kind of common sense that, YES of course it's a hate crime. Guess common sense isn't all that common.

Trying to play this off as a minor indiscretion is completely unacceptable! Hate crimes and bulling are too similar not to be the same…. No student should ever feel this way when attending school … In school suspension?? How about criminal charges?? That’s what I would do if I were the girl’s parents. Full charges should be brought to the boys that did this. Sally Bradshaw is a poor excuse as a principal.

It is apparent that Mrs Bradshaw couldnt care less about what these guys did to this girl. She basically handled it as she does all the other things that goes on. She turns her back. Dress codes are only inforced for certain students. This type of behavior has gone on forever under the watchful eye of Sally Bradshaw. Nothing is EVER done about it. She sees, she KNOWS, and she

Am I am sure that if a student showed up with a toy gun and threatened someone, they would get off with a smack on the hand because it was an early april fool joke. As President, I B-lack Obama have checked into this incident. After talking with the boys and the girl I have determined it was all in fun. That was the boys way of asking the girl if she wanted to go out after school and "tie one on" or "get looped", in other words if she wanted to get "drunk".
