Small Business Owners,Should they have to file Federal @State taxes ?

Why not,They Should. Who don't let me know

I think they should.They also should also report all earnings to the irs.It's not fair for people like me to work a public job and our company takes out taxes on us.I think if pepole that has business, don't matter what kind,textile, furniture,sales,construction,r oofing,sewing,any kind of wages,or money being made under the table, i would call it, you should be honest enough to turn it in and pay your fair share of income tax.I know a man that has a business now for 15 years in roofing and he don't report his earnings at all.I bet when the irs catches up with him he want have a pot to piss in.He's even made remarks he dont have to pay taxes..What a dumbass he is.If you have proof you can hang them,with no problem .that is what i was told.Does the irs give rewards out to people thats has a record of this..information.time will tell

Some people puts out signs in there yard to advertise, and guess what they don't pay taxes at all, I know I worked for him....

I feel pretty sure that businesses are paying their share of taxes. If they know ways to get around filing somethings than more power to them. I have to say though that the language and sentence structure in the previous post is positively atrocious. That being said, if a person puts a sign out advertising the fact that can can "do odd jobs, minor home repairs, roofing, lawn maintenance, etc." , then it is obvious with the economical times being what they are at the moment, then they are apparently trying to supplement their income. These people are niot require to file a 1099 until they have reach a certain amount of income from their side jobs. I believe that amount is somewhere around $600.

I know a man in Hickory who has been doing this for years and now the IRS is after his ass. He was working under another man's contractor's license, not reporting his full income, leaving out some 1099's when he filed, and was making mega bucks. However, he was only turning in about $10,000 a year in income, using people names as dependents (and got caught up with on that one), while he was actually earning over 100,000 a year. When the IRS comes down on this man, he's in for some major trouble and probably some felonies, also! I wonder if he likes prison? He may be headed there and probably will lose everything he's got. When he gets out of the pen, he will probably be driving a likker sikkle and his family will be living in a cardboard box. Oh well, if you are stupid enough to try and shit the government, you will get what you asked for. I hate paying taxes but I know that the IRS is smart and will come after evaders. Therefore, I pay what I'm supposed to pay.And, BTW, I DO have a contractor's license and DO pay my taxes, unlike ole dishonest "thinks he's the shit", in Hickory.

IRS is checking out a man in longview for back taxes that's worked in Roofing and Construction for 25 years. People can't wait to see what happens when he's in prison and other people has to do on there on and other certain people goes down to that's with him......

It's spelled Lenoir. Geez. I'm a small business owner and pony up appx $15000 in self employment taxes. It hurts, but I don't have much choice. What kills me is seeing how many people pay their employees (Yes they ARE employees) on a 1099 basis and get around payroll taxes. I HATE that. If I tried to do that I would get hammered by the NCDOR. They are the ones you have to watch out for. OK people, if your employees use your vehicles, your equipment, and you pay them by the hour, they are EMPLOYEES not subcontractors!
