i recently purchased an automobile from this car dealership. If i had it to do over i wouldn't!! The people who handle the sales are crooks!! I agreed on a price and i put alot of $ down on the car, these people wouldnt come down on the price at all. When i went in to sign the contracts they shoved a $549 DOC fee down my throat and added .9% to my finance rate. If you ever do business at this dealership beware of their tactics!!!!!!

Hey meathead- there are doc fees at every dealership. They always raise the interest rate so they can make money. They don't finance to be nice. This is done wherever you buy a car. It doesn't make it right but that is how the car industry works. Every dealership does it, unfortunately.

A Lawsuit is currently underway in Overton County related to the Slander being posted on the Topix website. Not all car dealers charge DOC fee.Jim Barkley Toyota in Asheville does not.If a dealership decides to charge DOC he is required to charge it to all customers. In negotiating price take the amount of the DOC fee and insist the dealer pays off his end.Always be willing to walk away from the deal. You can always find a better deal.DOC is AKA additional dealer profit (ADP).

I deffinately agree with u guys who say that Hickory Toyota rips u off! I dont c how they are still in business. For one I have personal experience up close and personal with that company! I used to work for them! I bought a car and they ripped me a new one on it! And i was an employee! the sales men arent the issue its the financing department that gets u every time. The job I did was to look at all the invoices that came thru! HAHA guess what everyone got ripped a new one! The place is shady and full of drama and doesnt know how to be ran! I stopped working there bc i wasnt raised that way to crap on ppl.

ALWAYS ask for the price of the car "Out-The-Door". If they try and sneak a DOC or other fee on you then you are "Out-The-Door. DO NOT hesitate on this. NEVER go shopping for a car with your wife or daughter. Extended warranties cost much less than on the invoice (purchashed through a third party by the dealership). When you are shown an invoice it is fabricated for the dealership as if they purchased only one car from a factory. Dealers obviously buy in bulk. If you act as if you NEED the car you will get taken. Act as if you got all the time in the world to buy a car. Seniors pay too much of their hard earned saved money. Let an adult, informed, responsible child initiate the deal. In the U.S. we only negotiate on price for two items in our lives, cars and houses, and the car and housing "pros" have your number!

I purchased a new vehicle in 2007. I stopped the salesman in his tracks by going to the dealership with pre-arranged financing and I was also able to talk the salesman out of adding unnecessary charges to the total cost of the vehicle. There are all kinds of ways to keep from being taken for a ride when buying a car. You just have to take the time to do your homework and not let your emotions get the best of you when negotiating the price.
