Give credit where credit is due, especially to the probation officer who provided the lead:

A PO can enter and search a probationers place of residence whenever he/she feels like it as the person under supervision has waived his right to the 4th. Most POs know what to look for. "Pinch marks" are a dead give-away and all meth users have them on their arms and legs. They also look gaunt (dehydrated) and their complexion is blemished. If the guy arrested isn't a user, the police, as is common, most likely leaned on a user who gave him up.

That's more that what a PO needs to get a revocation warrant and call in the sheriff or DEA who may then legally search the premises.

The clown arrested was probably a user and a low-level dealer. Child's play. The time to sit up and take notice is if/when his supplier is arrested or better still, when they find the lab.

No matter who takes the credit for the "meth bust", one thing remains... if meth was found, then it had to made somewhere (where is the lab). Similar to "moonshine", if one finds "moonshine", there has to be a process (still) that it was made.

It clearly shows me this; HAS THE CRIME RATE REALLY GONE DOWN 30%?

IT'S ALL IN THE WORDING THAT IS USED TO MAKE-ONE-THINK, their being truthful, especially around election time. Clinton sure has blown his own horn during this campaign. Conviently enough, he FINALLY executed a search warrant (after having the info. for awhile, finally executes the S.W. just before canidate qualifications) at the "fruit stand", located a dead body on Soapstone (so advanced & determined to bring T.C. into the 21st century by creating a search/rescue team), arrested a murderer (self defense case), made more than 3 FELONY METH ARREST (unable to charge as a misdemeanor in Georgia), ELECTED to Vice President of the Georgia Sheriff's Association (appointed by the sheriffs that were present during the ballot process and a few other things that i'm sure i am forgetting (i am human)... but has CRIME really dropped by 30% with all these incidents mentioned, let alone what hasn't been mentioned?

Does anyone know what meth smells like when being made. Down the road from me is a mobile home in the woods, with a gate and a no trespassing signs.Sometimes I smell something odd when I drive by, don't think its anything, just makes me wonder.

All these incidents mentioned? You listed three crimes. One of which you claim was self defense. I don't understand how that argues the crime rate being down 30%. Especially since these have happened over a period of months. Not days or weeks.

Since in this day and age where drug money has so often bought law enforcement to the point you don't know which "side" they're on anymore and to call them and report what you've smelled could easily get you hurt or killed, I'd suggest you buy a pre-paid phone (pay for it in cash) and use that to call and report it. There is an "anonymous" tip line but be advised; that line does have caller-ID! And e-mail? That can be traced.

It's good that you're so observant and concerned, and I applaude you, but you must protect yourself.

The sheriff's office had this guy a year ago. The timing of this bust is suspect, especially since there were children in this guy's houshold and they knew it.

3 kids in the house with this dirtbag. What kind of person puts their kids in this kind of danger? There were also guns in the house of this convicted felon. My prayers for the children.

I know! What happened to the days when sheriffs would personally check on every probationer every evening before going home? Come on! I know that's got to be in the job description some where. At least have the chief deputy do a drive by, uh, drop by.

Bust nets over 6 pounds of meth
By Derreck Booth Editor
GAINESVILLE - Authorities in Hall County Monday morning released details of an arrest that netted methamphetamine worth an estimated $303,200 on the street.

"It was the crystal methamphetamine, which is the clear looking almost like rock salt looking shards," Gainesville-Hall County Multi Agency Narcotics Squad Lt. Scott Ware said.

36 year old Wilfredo Aguilar-Gonzalez is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and immigration hold.

Ware said it went down using a confidential informant.

"Basically, a call was made and an order was placed, and Mr. Aguilar-Gonzalez delivered meth, which was approximately 6.76 pounds to a location in Flowery Branch," Ware said.

Ware said the arrest happened without incident in the 7300 block of Spout Springs Road on July 27. MANS agents, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and deputies with the Hall County Sheriff's Office took part in the case.

According to Ware, Aguilar-Gonzalez, an illegal immigrant and native of El Salvador, had been living in Austell. The arrest went down July 27.

Come on, damnit! Wine wasn't growing all that much out in back of his house there on Bell, just enough for himself and his friends, and a little extra for customers, musicians, and any company that dropped by. ;o)

He was also in the music program at Eastgate Church, do you think they knew about it too? No, he hid this little secret from Chris and the Church.
