That is so sad, what is wrong with people, M-120 is about 45 going through that area. And that bar is a mess, that is a good example of a bad location for a bar, people come out all messed up, and then drive out into fast traffic. It would be a great place for a sherriffs deputy to be posted at all times, and then maybe this could have been prevented. Very Sad, my sympathy's to the family.

I hope this drunk is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and that the deceased's family sues for so much money the drunk and her immediate family end up in a cardboard box under a bridge. Thats right folks, I said the drunks family too, maybe if we start punishing the enablers they will be more willing to get involved and try to stop the behavior and if they can't or won't, then they need to cut all legal ties with these bums and leave them penniless and alone.

M-120 is a long, boring stretch of 55 highway between Fremont and Muskegon. Holton's just a blinker-light somewhere in between. You often see a cop sitting at the gas station on the corner of M-120 and Holton Duck Lake ... as often as can be expected in Holton (which would be for an hour or two on Friday nights).

Holton's a one-blinker-and-a-stopsign rural township bookended by a bar and a party store. A sherriff at all times? Someone below said call a cab?!? Have you ever been out there? You'd be more likely to get a ride home on a cow from a neighboring farm than to get a cab to go way out there.

Well, then they can use their two legs that God gave them when he created them instead of getting behind the wheel of their vehicle. There is NO excuse for drunk driving regardless of how rural the area is. I know for a fact, you can call a GR taxi service and they will pick you up in a rural area and take your loser hiney home after you've gotten drunk. If people think they're grown up enough to drink, then they need to be responsible enough to use the fricken telephone. You can't tell me she doesn't have any friends or family that she could have called instead of getting behind the wheel.

Hey Idiot, do you know where Holton Michigan is? Of course not, it is about 1 hour northwest of GR, and about 30 minutes east of Muskegon, and it is a very small town, with about nothing going for it except a bar, post office, gas station, and cemetary. No cabs any where with in a calling range. So maybe you are thinking the sheriff department ought to be a cab service. IDIOT.

Michelle, you and Idiot must be related. I am really laughing right now. A cab is not going to drive an hour to pick-up some drunk in Holton, MI, the first thing this illegal will say is where? Don't know that place...and then not show up. Yes this lady is in the wrong, and should have called someone, I think the verizon network works in that area, the no-tels not so much always. And also the bar should have cut her off, but who knows what her alcohol tests will show, she could have been below the limit, and not paying attention. Bad circumstances, and I would imagine at least 90% of the people out there have driven drunk when they shouldn't have, some of you have been caught, some will get caught, and some will not. So stop pointing fingers and telling others what to do.

They tried that once. it's called prohibition. Didnt really work. Good idea though.

I think people just need to learn self control and pay better attention to what they're doing. Alcohol isnt the reason for this (and most) of these sort of accidents, its the morons abusing the alcohol.

Even I know the Alibi is in Twin Lake and not Holton. It's only a few miles difference but try calling Grandville police for something that happened in Wyoming. They know a couple miles difference really matters.

Now I have to post, not to bash, but to educate.

The Alibi Bar is Twin Lake, MI only 12 miles from Muskegon.

They will send a Taxi 12 miles for customer pickup.

I do not understand what folks are thinking when they leave a bar drunk. It was not closing time, it was early evening. She must have spent the day there hoping to get picked up? If not, she is maybe thinking now that she wishes that she were picked up.

To the Family that has suffered such a great loss, I send my thoughts for you to speed through your loss.

I dont wanna pass blame on the bartender. But how come a drug dealer can be arrested for selling a drunk to a kid that die's? But a bartender serving a drunk person that then leaves a bar and kill's someone. doesnt get in trouble. Lets say she was drunk at 4 beer's, and she kept drinking till she had 9 beers. I dont believed it would have changed the outcome. BUT come on. If someone is sitting down in front of you, and their drinking till their shitfaced... You need to cut them off.

You mean people should actually be responsible for their themselves?

What a unique concept....
