Group takes offense to Spanish billboards

I agree that no billboards, advertisements, documents, or any other form of communications should be in any language other than English in America. We cater to the laziness of all foreign nationalities by bending our system to translate to them. If we were to travel to Vietnam, Mexico, Iran, or any other land, the signs, legal documents, and communications as a whole are done in the native language of that country/region. What makes them so special that we have to create unnecessary expenses for our corporations, citizens, and government to cater to their lack of learning English? They remain lazy, speaking their native language, while the rest of us Americans (don't care what color you are) who do speak English continue to suffer!!! Enough is enough. You want to live here, then learn to communicate. No more of this "Me No Speaky English" nonsense, and trust me, working in the financial services industry for better than 12 years has allowed me to see and hear it all. It's garbage top to bottom. Speak it or get out!

what. que ignorantes they must go to cancun mexico and they will see all the billboards in english and not in spanish.and many other citys is all about $$$$$$$.

You like other ultra conservatives (possibly nut cases) always forget that English is only the de facto language of the United States.

If you cannot understand the language in question, I recommend you broaden you linguistic ability.

Spanish isn't an illegal immigrant language no matter how hard you try to make it.

if what you say is true then why are all new citizens required to speak English? language is what unites us and allows us to communicate. what if everyone decided to just speak their native language and refused to learn English like the Mexicans? we would not be able to function as a society. like I said it is nothing more than pandering to one group of people who refuse to get with the program.

This is a difference of values. Pro amnesty groups like to say diversity is a great thing for our country. In reality, assimilation is what this country was built on. "E Pluribus Unum, From Many One", is a uniquely American trait. We are the melting pot of the world. We have immigrants from all over the world and they assimilate and become as American as anyone else. The pro amnesty groups advocate diversity, which is NOT an American value. Those that immigrate to this country and refuse to assimilate are hurting themselves and our country. They don't want to become Americans and will never identify themselves as such. Their loyalties will always be with their country of origin. Sorry, but this is totally unacceptable and must be outright rejected. If you want to become an American, welcome. Otherwise, GO HOME!

Does the TOWER of BABEL mean any thing to anyone. We are becoming Babel, and unfortunately we'll end the same way. No country can survive if they don't have a national language that Everyone speaks..

81% of the U.S. population aged five years and older fluently speaks english. Please go and find another lame excuse why English should be the only language in the United States.
