They move so much production to Mexico and then expect us to pay still higher prices. I hope their greed comes back to bite them in the butt. Put enough of it in cold storage and that may be your next stop. Ever wonder why a dog should never eat chocolate ? It may kill him . It also may do the same to you if you eat enough of it.

First Hershey closes plants and ships manufacturing jobs to Mexico for the cheaper labor, now they want more money for it? That takes some real cajones.

They closed the plant in Reading, costing @ 900 jobs, then they darn near closed the one in Hershey, then they moved their operations to Mexico, now they want to raise the prices? why? they have workers putting in 60-80 hr weeks in Mexico for 3 bucks an hour , the greedy pirates are still not happy? F&%$# Hershey. The town of Hershey should change their name after what that piece of crap company did to that town, putting probably half the residents out of work. I hate Hershey bad.

they are going to increase prices by 10%, but they had no problem with moving production to mexico. american workers lost their job's in reading and in hershey. I stopped buying there candy when they said they were moving production to mexico.

All Pot of Gold Box Chocolates are made in Canada. Their quality and standards have demimished. Wages, even union wage and benefits are a small part of cost. It is a good ploy to have you believing it is the main reason they are pulling out of the USA.

It just has/nt tasted the same since they packed up most production to Mexico. Their baking cholcalte lost quality some years ago. Just another reason I won't be buying their products. Other producers make a better product for the money- let Hershey sell its overpriced chocolate bars in Mexico.

Oh well, I'll continue eating Hershey chocolate bars, peanut buttercups, Kisses,Pot of Gold, chocolate syrup on my ice cream and cocoa. Been my favotites for over 60 years.

I see moving your York Peppermint Patty production to Mexico helped your bottom line. I emailed them a complaint and got some BS story about "global supply chain etc." My whole family refuses to buy them.
FYI - Colgate toothpaste is also made in Mexico. I don't buy that either.
There are some really good smaller chocolate companies in the US. Go to Wegmans and check out some of the delicious MADE in the USA bars there. Lake Champlain chocolates out of Vermont is just one. There are others all over the US.

Drew wrote: <quoted text> Exactly. Americans priced themselves out of work. I find it comical that the same people that are crying about a 10% increase in price are crying about the jobs lost. Hershey would have to increase it's cost by a lot more than 10% to sustain the amount of pay and benefits an American worker demands. By Drew's Logic we should all just work for 50 cents an hour so Big Business Execs make their profits. Why stop there - Live in shanty's with no weekends, no time for children or family. Exploit the environment all so Business is Happy and profitable. The same Americans who "priced themselves out of work" are expected to be confident enough to spend. Economics 101. People have to spend to fuel an economy. After USA is returned to 3rd world status maybe Drew can find work in China? Mexico is already too high priced labor for most companies. Stop spewing the Republican rhetoric just because you hate unions and cant get over your jealousy of anybody who works hard and has a pension. Instead of asking why others have good pay and benefits, work so you too have good pay and benefits. Maybe even join a union. Do yourself a favor an turn off the Talk Radio

I feel like a greater evil than their outsourcing is the fact that they're notorious for doing little to nothing to put an end to slave labor and child labor in their cocoa fields. (Imagine a 7 year old with a machete and that gives you an idea) Hershey and Nestle are two of the industries worse offenders.
