She should be kept in jail for life. Her life could be in jeporady if she gets out. 10 to 20 years???? How much time would Robert Curley if he did that to her???? He would've certainly have got the death penalty, and that thought is more disgusting than what she did to him!

I can't believe this bitch got only a maximum of 20 years. They had enough evidence to get her life without parole. Why in the hell did they let her plea bargain? Twenty years is not enough for the suffering Robert went through. I hope she never sees any money from anywhere and she screws up and spends more time behind bars. What a cold callous bitch!

What a statement this makes to the youth in our society when a cold blooded murder takes 50 years of life from an innocent young man & detroys a family & gets to get out in 20. We need to really examine this easy way out called "plea bargaining" from both perspectives.

I just watched this on "Forensics" & cannot believe she only got 10 to 20 years!! She should have got "Life" but a SLOOOOOW Painful, tortured Life!! I hope all the crazy kids out there don't watch this stuff, it would only put more new ideas into their alrady sick heads (VATECH SHOOTING as an example of the sick kids doing this all over OUR COUNTRY. Prayers to Bobby's Family.

I also watched this on Discovery Health and I just can not believe what this woman has done. How can someone do something so evil, and then sit there everyday with him in the hospital and continue to do it. It just blows my mind, she should have been put to death or at the very least be spending the rest of her miserable natural life in prision. Not a minimum security prision, like she is in, but a maximum 23 hour lockdown prision. Her poor husband, no one deserves that kind of death, an innocent person who did nothing but love her and be a father to her daughters. ten to one she had something to do with her first husbads "wrongful death" as well. Something needs to be done about these kinds of people.

I HATE JOANNE CURLEY. shes a meanie. who would do that to ANYONE just for their money. did she see how hurt her husband was?shes a female dog.nobody deserves that. she should be in prison FOREVER. i hope she never has a reason to smile EVERR AGAIN.

who would poison their husband for money?? joanne curley should be kept in prison for the rest of her life.the thallium killed her husband. he was a nice man that didnt deserve what that bitch did to him.i hope she felt good about herself when she saw her husbands body attacking him. she freakin puts thallium in his favorite ice tea!!! even when hes in the hospital and he finally is able to eat and drink things his stupid wife joanne put more thallium in his sodas. if joanne hasnt realized she has thallium in her body now too.(shes not going to heaven thats all im saying).that bitch had a husband before bobby curley that ''died'' i bet she killed him.she should spend the rest of her life in jail.

This show belongs on the Lifetime network. There is a show called Snapped about weomen who murder their husbands, usually for money. She was already in court over her first husband and going to get a lot of money anyway. What a greedy low life. God will get you girl.

I feel so sorry for the Curley family... to live with such grief. I can't even believe that there are people out there so cold and callous.
Thallium causes cancer. Joanne (and her daughter unfortunately) will most likely suffer with some sort of cancer. She might not even make it to 2015. That would be the only justice. |
In my opinion, this type of murder should be delt with very harshly...Not only did she take a life, but she killed someone who loved her and trusted her...On top of that, he suffered for a long time..God will deal with Joanne someday, but for now she needs to pay the maximum penalty. Twenty years,,no less...
My thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family. |

I just watched this. I cried for Bobby and his family. I could not believe that his wife the cold blooded killer only got 10-20 years behind bars. He loved her and her daughter and this is how she pays him back for his love. I think she should have gotten life or the death penalty. What is wrong with our justice system today? She got a slap on the wrist if you ask me. Her family suffers the death of a loved one while she still walks free. Not fair!!!!!!!!!

I saw a portion of the Discovery program re: this case. From what I saw,it was one of the most clear cut cases of 1st degree, premeditaded murder I've ever seen. Then, all of a sudden, the DA made a deal for her to plead to 3rd degree! I want to know why this bargain was made. The program never explained it.What a blatant disregard for the rights of the poor victim's next of kin! Can anyone answer my question?

We just saw the story re: Bobby Curley .... we are totally shocked that callous, evil bitch got only 10-20 years .... she should be given thallium the same way she did Bobby and be made to suffer as he did ....... prayers to the Curley family

What a Greedy Old Bitch! If I were you JoAnn I would be looking over my shoulder everyday. One of these day's you maker is going to come looking for you!
The bitch is better with life imprisonment w/o the possibility of parole. She's a cold and calculating killer. Fgs, she still gave him poison thru his soft drink while he was dying at the hospital. This bitch is insane!
I just saw this on Discovery Health and I agree with you. Her first husband dies "wrongfully" and then she offs her second husband? They need to look more carefully into the first husband's death. There is no statute of limitations for murder. If they can re-open the first husband's case, maybe they'll find her guilty. Then, she'd NEVER get out. |
I just watched the show on the Discovery Healthy Channel yesterday (Nov 11) and no doubt, as I watched it, I knew the wife was up to something all along. First husband's "accidental death", the expression on her face, so obvious! I'm glad they fully investigated the matter and convicted her, or else she would've married someone else and killed him off too! Most definitely she had something to do with the first husband's death. She doesn't deserve parole. How can such a cruel person exist and do such things like this?

I am more than a little shocked by the failure of physicians to isolate their patient once they suspected poisoning. Even without direct evidence that the poisoning is deliberate, people don’t go around eating thallium sandwiches, especially while hospitalized. I can't believe it is not standard operating procedure, once metal poisoning is identified to ensure that the patient is protected from continued outside contamination, such as food. I am also surprised that physicians clung to their initial diagnosis for so long notwithstanding the lack of a valid clinical basis for that diagnosis. These physicians sound like morons, and I only wonder whether the family has pursued legal action against the hospital and its staff. There must be some legal remedy for so much professional idiocy.
I have just viewed this tragic story for the second time in several months, and the shock of this evil woman's actions are not lessened by a 2nd viewing. It is disgraceful that the legal system (in the USA and probably in the UK too) is not more focused on protecting the victims and ensuring real justice for the family of victims. It is beyond belief that such evil people are deemed by our legal systems to be worthy of release and freedom.
