why is officers still beating on blacks?

i knew a girl that was beat by an office in southaven ms a few years ago. she was taken to the jail where she later fainted because the hand cuffs cut out her circulation. she was rushed to there and wasn't taken to jail. she was denied rights to press charges against the officer by the chief of police.she was charged with resisting arrest(how if she had her infant in her arms)she contacted all type of people and had no help. she talked to just about everybody that she could and there was nobody to help.she had witness everybody that was standing outside even her small children that looked up to cops but now is afraid of who they thought would protect her.

I agree with you twinkle star. Illiterate people write stupid stuff like this. Let me guess bigmamma, we owe you the world and everything also. It is always a black and white issue. Let me guess, you must be from the South?

Unfortunately, yes it is a black and white issue. And it doesn't just happen in the south. It happens everywhere in this country. How often do you hear of police officers harassing white people? Whites commit crimes just as blacks, but a lot of their crimes are covered up and overlooked.

Recently in Southaven, MS a black couple were both physically and verbally abused, handcuffed, and jailed just for sitting in their yard. They were not bothering anyone. All of this happened in front of their children who were also cursed and threatened. Oh, I left out that one had to receive medical treatment.

All of this happened because they had just recently moved in a "white neighborhood".

White police officers act this way because they can. It is not right. They are cowards that hide behind a stick, gun, and their other cowardly officers. I guess the motto "To serve and protect" only apply to white people and not blacks.

God is not pleased with this type of behavior. If we can not get alone and love one another on earth, how are we going make it to heaven?

I imagine the "tree huggers" will see to it free rides to heaven are available for those who won't work for it. don't worry, be happy.

Unfortunately, most of the blacks that are beaten bring it upon themselves. How? Instead of playing it cool, laying back and keeping quiet (otherwise known as showing respect for authority), they would rather lip off, run or strike out at the police. Blacks should realize by now that the local authority will not tolerate the kind of "thuggin" the Memphis police put up with. I don't personally agree with the police beating anyone, but don't ask for it by acting a fool then complaining about it later.

I really don't think it's a race issue.the law in Mississippi seems to be above the general public.they speed around town , blow off stop signs and disregard most traffic laws posted.if they do happen to be charged for a crime they allways get off . why are you suprised its the good ol"e boys club (Democrats)who have allways supressed freedom of women and blacks. if they read the history books in school they would know republicans repealed slavery, and passed the laws so blacks and women can vote. so i want to know why most women and blacks vote for opression over freedom?

the reason they still do it is beause they are in the south and their minds are still functioning form two or three hundred years ago.they have yet to evolve to this century.

Nobody is going to make it 'Heaven'!
But, you can start by not having a smart mouth. A lot of the, so called 'beatings', happen when some fool starts flapping off with some smart remark, then it just feeds off of that. Race relations will not get any better because people just cannot accept change. I use 'people' because it's all people, not just White people, for it takes ALL people to make racism disappear. The White people probably will, and have, taken the lead, but..........the blacks must realize that it is going to take BOTH sides to make it work! I don't care what you say, it is going to take both sides to kill racism, it's that simple. If one side has to do it, it will NEVER be eradicated! Don't think for one minute that ALL Whites are going go for it, just as ALL blacks won't, but I'll tell you this, BOTH sides had better well try hard, or, it just ain't gonna work, there is just far too much animosity hiding under the cover.
