I am the mother of three ages 13,12,and 4, a full time student a wife and a daughter of a single parent. Just tonight I put my 4year olds jacket on her and was heading out to return a movie, she walked on out the door because she saw the children across the street out. My mom who just had back surgery called me. I turned my attention to her with the front door wide open. We talked for a minute and I looked out and saw my child with a police officer. Who told me my child was unsupervised on the street (which is a dead end street and the front door was open) when I said she wasnt he firmly told me that she was not being supervised and if I let it happen again he would have to start giving out citations. WHAT THE CRAP!!! When did it become against the law for your kids to play outside. I was very embarassed because my child is usually the only child in the neighborhood with a parent outside and everyone trying to juggle school, children and a parent who just had back surgery has let one slip out of sight for a second you almost can't help it. So kudos to you cocky policeman for giving me something else to feel bad about.

Appartently you were not even watching your child or you would have noticed that the officer had pulled up beside them at night. Remember, it only takes a second before their gone. As parents it's hard to watch are children 24/7 but when it comes to a young child like a 4yr old, you better start learning fast or they will be taken away by either some pervert, sicko, or the state. Also remember that dead end streets are more commonly used by criminals then thought.

I understand that this was an isolated event; however, what if your child had not encountered a police officer but rather a sick pervert canvassing neighborhoods looking for an unsupervised child playing outside? Unfortunately, sometimes a second is too long for a child to be unsupervised.

Maybe you should move out of the projects. The police are usually only present in the bad neighborhoods!!

I do understand that sometimes those in uniform do tend to act somewhat cocky, but I have to agree with some of the previous comments. The news is always full of stories of children being snatched never to be heard from again or winding up in landfills, etc. It's a sad commentary on our world today. I have a 14 year old and a 4 year old and I would never let them do some of the things that I did at that same age.

What part did your dumb@ss backwood little pea brain not understand? It only takes a second for a child to be abducted and if parents are going to let their little 3-4yr old kids run around at night in the street alone then they don't need children, they need a beaten. There are too many perverts preying on young children today to play Russian roulette with them. The mother of this child was darn lucky that the officer didn't get her for child endangerment! If you noticed the mother even said that when see looked outside the officer was with her daughter, correct so that shows you that had she been watching her child see would have seen the car pull up. So if you get your head out of your big butt and leave your cousins alone you may come to relize what I'm saying, that is of course I didn't go over your 3rd grade education.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Sagittarius

Slow down! You're trying to do too much and it's driving you - and everyone else - up the wall. What's more, if you're in too much of a hurry you'll start to become accident-prone and that will make you even more het up. Try to take any setbacks or domestic mishaps in your stride, otherwise you'll end the day feeling like a nervous wreck.
