I always got a real kick out of Chambers..I would sit there and watch with my Redbook in hand and laugh as he tryed to make you believe you were getting a deal of a lifetime...I really enjoyed his antics..But on the other hand he was lying through his teeth and some uneducated people were getting ripped off..He was famous for his "Ultra Cameos"and his"Pedigrees"...... ...Absolutely ridicious.....I must admit he was entertaining and I did probably added to his high ratings because I would always watch that lunatic when he was on..

Apparantly Robert Chambers is taking his Coin Vault and merging with Coin Country. John Binns is gone and starting tonight (1 December) Robert will be taking over with Scott Houk (direcTV 227 2100EST-0100EST). Coin Country always had reasonable prices (especially on TV) for coins and currency. They are in Dandridge TN and I wonder if they weren't castoffs from the old ShopAtHome. It will be interesting to see what happens to the pricing structure on this show.

I am also wondering, watched some last night, so sick and tired of that nasty John Binns the "Mad Hatter" I called him. Bought some from him and got cheated every time. He must get juiced up, and then it is 'going to sell it all' you buy and get half of what you paid for.
Good change, lot more interesting. I like it.

The guy that produces Coin Country actually started the originally Shop At Home but sold the company a few years back. ShopAtHome failed under their new owner because they were big spenders who couldnt cover their costs and tried competing with QVC.

the coin vault and coin country are really run by leon hendrickson the owner of silvertowne coins. while chambers is dishonest, he is only the front man and stooge for silvertowne, and i am sure he has little,if anything to do with setting prices. obviously he is good at what he does since he has been on the air for over 20 years. unfortunately, most of the people who buy from him are either novice coin collectors, or people who live in areas where there are little if any coin shows or shops. the real problem is that most of his customers dont do research into the hobby to find out the true quality of the coins he sells, as well as use the internet to comparison shop. these are, unfortuantely the same people who would buy the awesome auger from billy mays. the old expression caveat emptor really applies to buying coins, becuase in some cases the prices are so high that you can lose a great deal of money by buying the wrong item. also remember, that coin prices like those ofany other collectible item are driven by the law of supply and demand. todays hot item may not sell for half of what you paid for it if the demand goes down. also coin prices are driven by the price of the bullion, like any other commodity. my philosophy is do your research, price compare, and only buy what you like, if the price goes down you will not be stuck with an item that you regret having bought in the first place

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Sagittarius

Pay attention to your health as the Moon enters Taurus and your sixth house of health and service today; it might be time for a check up. With Neptune and Jupiter in your third house, nervous tension could be leading you into bad habits that will undermine your health. If you feel stressed out, reach for your athletic shoes instead of a double martini and you'll be happy with the results.
