OMG Really people? I died "to" weeks after I moved to vegas! Who died? Why were you in CCDC?
As for Suave Lopez, he KILLED another kid for his car. Then burned his body, then told friends about it, and threatened to kill anyone who turned him in... Tenn. vs. Garner. He was a fleeing felon. look it up. The families of the kids Lopez would have killed for tuning him in to police, should be thanking the police officers for shooting Lopez in the back while he was running from the police. Lopez was not able to hurt their children, because they shot him first. They did what they had to do. Protect or community. I guess his dirtbag family who want millions for nothing are the ones who raised their child to think it's okay to steal! Now they want to steal too.

Henderson Nevada has a very aggressive and apparently under trained and under disciplined police force. They in fact have the "us (civilians) vs. them (police)" mentality that is more commonly found in po-dunk towns in the deep south. Random traffic stops to see if "you're staying in line" (read profiling) often result in confrontation and arrest for one issue or another. Generally anything they can think up. On the other hand, if you simply stay out of Henderson, or do not make eye contact with a Henderson police officer, you probably wont have any issues.

Sincerely, they are far less professional than one would think, given the amount of money the city has.

I believe so; I lived in Henderson, Nevada for 17 years. It’ is everything Havana, Cuba was before Fidel Castro came along and enforced the Rico Act which outlawed gambling, prostitution and murder.

It is true that we have had way too many police involved shootings here in LasVegas. But we do need to keep in mind, that in this case this wasnt a sweet little innocent kid.He blatantly murdered another teen so he could have his car.He didnt just shoot the guy and leave him laying there. He planned to kill him.He put him in the trunk of his own car, dumped the body, then went back the next day and poured gasoline on his body and torched him.He was very uncooperative with police.I just think that if this family gets all these millions of dollars from suing metro, its going to send a loud message to society saying its ok to commit atrociuos crimes and then run from police, if you get shot, your family can sue and become rich from you being a criminal.Wheres the compensation for the family of the kid who was so brutally killed and mutilated??? Kyle was a pretty good kid, graduated, and held a full time job.Whereas, Suave was in and out of juvenile facilties, and always getting in trouble. The other kid involved is in jail, and will be tried as an adult.Im sorry but I disagree with this lawsuit.Id rather see the family of the man who was shot on the strip on the 4th of July, who had his music up too loud be rewarded the 23 mil.
If this family gets $$$$ I hope the family of the true victim sues THEM for wrongful death..

Was he arrested for simple jaywalking or did he have a warrant for his arrest?
Because they usually give you a $280.00 ticket.

I moved away from Nevada 4 yrs. ago. I lived in Henderson and had nothing but problems with HPD and especially Chief Mayberry. On Mother's Day 2002, every car on our street suffered slashed tires. I called HPD only to find out there was only one officer on duty because of the holiday. On another occasion I asked for and received help from HPD to make entry in my vacated rental property after an eviction. They entered the empty home, guns drawn, with me and my children standing right behind them. Later they explained to me and my kids we lived in a really bad neighborhood. This really scared the kids. Captain White of HPD once told me most of the younger cops were like spoiled little rich kids and did not want to get involved in helping people in the Pittman area. He also said most of these guys were just looking for action and did not want to do the mundane community service needed in Pittman. How many police lawsuits can Henderson afford to settle? And what about Charlie Walker, beaten for being grouchy with the officer? He was 85 yrs. old when he was beaten up! How many justifiable homicides has Metro racked up in the past 20 yrs? I'll bet at least 20. And to this day......no officer on either force has ever been at fault.

LOL all you bums that are claiming police brutality are all the same, trouble makers who show up on their radar with your actions and deeds, only to cry foul when you're caught and detained then treated accordingly when you resist arrest. Stop whining and take the punishments you deserve. You're all nothing but scum that needs to be locked up to make society safer for the rest of us.

BTW, no one is taken to jail WITHOUT reason. If you want to avoid jail if you think you didn't do anything, keep your mouth SHUT and do EVERYTHING the officer tells you to do. You may think it's undignified to comply, but it's much better than saying the wrong thing and ending up with a permanent record.

Years ago I had to kick out a boarder, changed the locks while he was out. Discovered things were missing from my house, was only paying what he wanted to give, instead of agreed upon rent according to the contract he signed, kept his room filthy to the point it stunk, wouldn't bathe and learned he had a warrant out for their arrest in another state.

When he came back and discovered himself locked out, he tried calling the police on me. I was at work and got a call from a Henderson Officer saying they were outside my residence with my boarder, demanded I come home and let him in.

I then asked them if they had his ID and checked him out, they said no. I then told him he probably still has an ID from that other State and to check him out, and told the Officer that he had a warrant out there.

The Officer then asked him for his ID, who got it and turned it over to another Officer. I then told the Officer why I changed the locks and was keeping his things, he listened without interrupting. When I was finished after several minutes of explaining, he thanked me for telling him the truth, for my boarder was now at that time in the process of being arrested for that warrant and would be taken to jail, but in the meantime I did have to release his belongings. I asked him if that could wait until after I got off work in a few hours, and he said that would be ok.

Ok now kiddies, what is the moral? This being that scumbuckets that try to lie end up being treated accordingly, while the rest of us that abide by society's rules are treated with respect by those sworn to uphold and protect.

I remember Old Suaves dad saying he was just a kid good that they murdered! Well lets see his daddy was living in Texas and old Suave was living with friends here in Vegas, Old Suave did not quite make it to the 8th grade, if he was such a great kid why did he not take him to Tx. Because the kid was BAD and a murderer! Go ahead and sue and you get nothing

WOW,

another thread trashing police but who do you little cry baby bitches call when you get robbed? Handle your problems yourself then and see how long you last doing that. Its funny one bad cops reflects a nation of well over 100,000 cops. BOO HOOOO HOOO who's saying your freedoms have been taken away whoever that was is a fucktard! Your freedoms are taken away when you break the law its called punishment, no cop is walking or driving around saying hey theres Jim Bob lets arrest him today, lets tell him he cant have coffee today, lets blah blah blah. Idiots! As far as the kid that was shot, he got the lucky way out. Lucky he got shot cause for certain he was going to be ass raped every night once sentenced. Furthermore they should send the whiny little bastards family to jail for terrible parenting and anyone else from the family involved with attemtoing to sue.

I just cant believe that Old Suaves father can blame other people because he is a failure at being a parent. He and Amir Crumps father should write a book about how not to raise a good kid.

I'm glad they didn't waste more than 2 bullets on tat little bitch. Anybody who names their kid Suave should be shot too. I hope the little prick suffered for a while before he died. God bless his victim and victims family. Hope Suave Lopez's family lawyer takes their last dime and they all starve to death. Las Vegas should sue the Lopez' for raising (not raising) that little piece of crap. Usually not a fan of Metro, but they did right that day. Hope his family gets shot too.

Happy that piece of crap is dead and it is no big loss. The State saves $50,000 a year housing that crap. Only to let that scumbag go so he can committ another crime.
Hope your scummy family loses the case and moves out of Nevada. 23 million will NOT change your family values. We all already know you people are nothing but scumbags.
