Well, yes and no, depends on the part of the Valley you wish to live in.
Over and around Lamb and Lake Meade in the lower areas you can live with lots of Illegals, no insurance and no regard for our laws, same over in the Rainbow and Torrey Pines area.
Henderson is not bad, yes there is a pest problem, yes the police enforce the speed laws,
(as they SHOULD)The heat sucks, but its not the mountains and if you moved here thinging that it was a clean and nice area, well your fault.
I moved here from the NW, Seattle, to get away from the rain, after 15 years i wish I was in the rain.
No good hunting here, bad fishing, camp grounds and beach areas full of Illegals who leave there trash everywhere.

Unemployment Rates Highest Since 2002

The amount of people filing for unemployment is higher than it has been in six years.

The U.S. Labor Department reports there were 455,000 unemployment claims last week.

That is the highest level since the Spring of 2002.

The latest snapshot of jobless filings was worse than the 430,000 claims economic analysts expected.

Nevada's unemployment rate stands at 6.4 percent and is expected to go even higher.

To wit, news flash, a Manufacturing firm in Henderson is closing its doors and will lay off over 150 people starting in October adding to the already high unemployment rate in Nevada.. Everybody's job will be gone forever as this company will not return to Henderson. The closing is in part due to the unfriendly atmosphere displayed by the city, its excessive business fee's and its out of control police force.

Maybe because everyone here is from every other metro city in the nation, which is why it now sucks. In 1986 it was a great place to live, not so much now.
