Judge it!In 1992 the Police Chief was named Steve Miller, I know him personally and he is an only child, he doesn't have a sister, SORRY.In 1992 after returning to Pineland from overseas duty I had an argument with the lady who ran the customer service desk at the place where you paid your water bill.
I had paid the bill previously and they did not take the prior payment off the bill. I went there in person and explained to her their mistake.
I was told "I do not make mistakes, you have not paid this bill." So I showed her the cancelled check, and told her I wanted to speak to her supervisor. She told me "You better get your ass out of here, or you are going to wish you had paid this bill again". I told her to KMA, and that I would contact the magistrate. She told me "DO YOU KNOW WHO MY BROTHER ID?! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" So I told her I could care less who her brother was and I called her a bitch.
I got into my car and left, and drove about 5 blocks to a buddies house to use his phone, and call the magistrate. Within 5 minutes the Pineland Police Chief (her brother) was there. He drew his weapon on me, handcuffed me, and took me to the Sabine County Jail.
In the time it took me to be transported to the SCJ he had already contacted the Sabine Magistrate. The magistrate had set a fine, and a sentence.
When I entered the SCJ I was told I had a choice: 1. pay 271.00 Fine for disorderly conduct, 2. Do 10 days in the SCJ.
When I asked for a phone call and an attorney, I was told "Son, their isn't going to be any attorney, and the only phone call you are going to make is for someone to bring you some money".
I saw how crooked SCJ and the Sheriffs office was in less than a 2 hour period. So I paid the money, funny when I do an NCIC there is NOTHING about an arrest on my record in Pineland, or an ajudication.
I guess they had a party that weekend out at Conway's old place..

I wonder how much of Recon Marine's post is true.
He sounds like a liar who just wants to stir something up. I served in the Marines and hate to see someone trying to mouth off while claiming to be a Marine. It serves no good purpose. |

i can say first and for most that i wasnt one well liked by the sheriffs department or hemphill pd but that doesnt mean that they treated me wrong. i remember when i was in school and i got cought with my tobacco i always ended up gettin the other cheek turned and like i said i wasnt a rich kid my dad didnt know anyone in the right places. i was looked at as the drug head and the problem maker. but i can honestly say that the officers in that area always treated me fairly and with respect until i didnt give it to them. so get yalls story straight. oh and if you have never lived there then you shouldnt even be on this page.

These is a load of BS! I've lived in Sabine county my whole life and I'll tell you right now that our Sherrif's department isn't crooked! My uncle god rest his soul work for the sherrif's department for seventeen and half years and he was one of the best lawmen ever! You all are a bunch of gossiping no good back stabbing hiprcites! All you can do is talk about these county and make it seem like our officers are doing nothing! You should be ashamed of yourselves. Sabine County may not be the most uptown hippest in the state but it's sure on heck of good town. Now I may not like living here but I'll say these .I've seen good people hurt and I've seen people's name ruined because of what people say in these town. You all should be a ashamed it's stupid it wrong and your all dumb!
I love these little town it's home it where I lived since the day i born. But the way you all are talkling it's aweful. I don't know what your problems with officers in these county are but I'll see these you all better shut up because I'll say these we not be the biggest town and we may be the most well known town. But you all better think Sabine County has stud for years and years and one day not today but one day you all will regret what you've just said.
