Wouldnt send my my kid to MSH. Guess u haven't read the latest news. Seems that the MHS Administration didn't send off the required paperwork for the students that were eligible for the Math School in time for scholarships. Seems that the MHS Administration had to hire outside person just to come in and fill out the required papers since AR BOE gave them an extension. And these are the people you want teaching your/my children... You go for it!! Have you applied for your children to attend MA or just sitting back complaining about it.

Marvell Public Schools were fine schools at the time the racist White Citizens Council folks chose to flee them and found the segregationist Marvell Academy. Why did the racist White Citizens Council people do that? Because they were white racists who did not want their children to go to school with blacks.

know the stats. What were the stats back in the 70's? You would be surprised because I elected to attend and graduate from public school and there were PLENTY of whites and blacks EQUALLY and we got along just fine. So racist comments like 'segregationist Marvell Academy' are just an old cliche man. Come up with something original. I guess the loss of Bobbie Brooks, Mohawk, Cedar Chemical, etc didn't play any role in your views of the loss of population nor the loss of whites in public schools. I guess you believe that if you don't stir the pot, the chili will burn. Where was your concern last year and the year before? Run for office, make a change if you have concrete ideas. The people will decide who has the best to offer.

well if you want your kids to go there save your money pay the tution and there you go.but they have very strict rules.like teen pregenecy if you get preganet your out so how many black girls would last there not many.how many is the public school are pregenat.

Of course you didn't mention that the population in 1940 was 1000 and by 1966 Marvell's population was 1545, an increase of 545, but yet the school district did not grow for the additional 50% increase in population. By year 2000 the population declined to to 1395, by 2005 it went down to 1250 and by 2010 it went down to 1186. You didn't do your homework, did you? This generation first has to learn, that life is not as easy as "copy and paste".

well if they didnt have to close the school for days at a time because of fights maybe the paper work would have gotten done in time if the student force them to close the scool do to acting like animals.so look at it from both sides of things.

has any blacks tried to enrolled if so were they refused?it is a private school privately funded.so if you want your kids to go there pay thier tuition.and its been proving smaller classes make for a better education

It's not the school that makes the student, it's the students that make the school. If you want to learn, it's there if you choose to utilize it. There are many fine teachers at MHS.
