NYWILL, Wrong part of Southern Maryland!! The gaming devices are in St. Mary's and the drag racing was in Charles/PG County.
As for the gaming devices, I say leave them alone!! The volunteer Fire Departments and Rescue Squads are receiving much needs funds from them and every bit of help they can get is a great thing!

Way to go dumb a.. Maryland. Keep sending the profits to Charlestown West Virginia. Thats where I get my slots on. Sometimes 1000 dollars a month. Wish I could play in Maryland. A whole lot closer.

I sure hope every story about these slots focuses on the fact that half of the take goes to charity. The more that's emphasized, the harder it'll be for the sheriff's dept to raid a "charity fundraiser". They're just all in a tiff about the fact that everything about those machines gets around the technical definition of a slot. "Oh no...it's helping people...it MUST be illegal!" Tell the cops to stop hanging out in clubs and liquor stores.

Like most of your comments, you are mis-informed or just plain ignorant. Judging for the picture you have on your profile I would suspect the latter.

Illegal Street Drag Racing=PG County
Legal Racing=Charles County (MIR and Budds Creek)

I love the slots. Love noy having to drive to another state to play. And the counties charities could use the money. We could use more high and middle schools also They are 3 high and 3 middle and about 12 elementary schools. I've lived in Golden Beach all my life and went to the same schools my children are going too. Its stiil the 45 minute bus ride. I
HOPE THE PULL TAB MACHINES STAYS!!!!!! If not take them out of Rodn Reel Toooo1111111

Like someone posted earlier, MD needs to get on board. The state is losing the money to Delaware and WVA. The lottery, especially Keno games, is a form of gambling so I can't buy the moral arguments. When the Skins and Ravens wanted new stadiums, new lottery games were approved to pay for them. At a minimum, it would be a help to the horse racing industry. Other than the Preakness, who goes to Pimlico on a regular basis?

Southern Maryland is beautiful! If they had slots there again just for general gaming. You will see an increase in business at the bars and hotels down there on nights where there are big sporting events, ie Redskins, NCAA's, Georgetown, Maryland, etc.

I hope gaming come back there in a big way. I would not mind seeing it in DC, but I have a feeling that some folks will not control themselves!

I never said he was born in Maryland. His family did own a vast bingo enterprise in southern Maryland. He took that money and purchased the Frontier, then property in front of Caesars which he sold and built the Mirage... Do a little research and you will see how much money comes fromt he "charity" bingo....
