There are a lot of wonderful parks in Hutchinson, but no "Dog Parks". I walk my dog on the trails down by the river in the spring, summer and fall and run into lots and lots of dog owners out doing the same. I have just wondered how many of them would be interested in having a Dog Park in our community. The nearest one to Hutch is at Carver Park Systems near Victoria, I think about 45 miles away. With the price of gas, it would be nice to have something like that at home. Any thoughts?

Yes it would be great to have a dog park, i have a long-haired chihuhua and a black lab. but the only problem with having something like that in hutchinson is the wanna be gangstas that go around town and vandalize anything they can. Thats why all we have is parks with trees, not much they can do to that

True, but don't all communities have the vandalizm issue to an extent? A dog park really doesn't have too much more to it than the trees and in addition to that, a double gated fence system for entering and exiting. There are also usually waste pickup baggies available, that I could see as being a problem keeping vandals from messing with that supply. Right now, I know in the winter time of at least two people who take their dogs to Roberts Park where its fully fenced except for one gate entrance on the far side missing a gate. They let their dogs run there. But in the spring, summer, winter lost of sports activities going on there. Even just something as simple as that. I have a black lab too, and he just needs his energy spent. Walks are good, but the socialization a dog park offers is also very healthy for the dog.

I think a dog park in Hutch would be great! As mentioned before, not much to vandalize there. The socialization it offers to our canine friends is invaluable, not to mention the exercise it offers for them to just run!!!!

I think It would be Great.I live in Hector and there is a leash law and would bring my Dogs to hutch to run and play with the others. As far as the wanna be gangsters and vandalism if you want to let those punks dictate what others are able to have and do, I feel sorry for you

You live in St. Paul, what do you care? I don't think you need to worry about your tax dollars being spent out in Hutch!!

I live in Brownton and have a good sized yard. But it's not the same as letting them have a go in a truly large space and with the company they get at a dog park.

One of the U.S. drawbacks. The first sign you see in any of the trail areas or state park type places is "Dogs Must Be Leashed"..........

it would be nice if we could turn an already existing park into a dog park, even if it was only on certain days at certain times, just to let dogs run around and socialize for awhile off their leash. Everyone should right a letter to city councel with the idea.
P.S. steve your a pervert who needs to get a life, if your not interesting in a dog park why waste your time writing on this post? stupid people
