I can say from personal experience that hazelwoods police department is the biggest waste of tax dollars in north county
EXAMPLES:
5+ cops always showing up for a pack of cigarettes a high schooler(my son) has been 'caught with' on numerous occasions.
There is always a hazelwood cop or 2 sitting in back of the various doughnut shops around here.
They harrass/ticket tax paying citizens for the most petty 'crimes' and in the event a more serious crime is commited it always seems like there is 10 plus cops swarming the scene, getting paid to do nothing but stand around cracking jokes.
Dont get me wrong, i have respect for our boys in blue as much as the next guy but do we NEED 100+ police on a force responding to 1 or 2 REAL crimes a day?
Give me some feedback.

The Truth - you made a few points I'd like to respond to:

1--Please use proper grammar and punctuation when trying to insult someone. When you type at a 3rd grade level, you leave the impression you have a 3rd grade education. In the words of Mark Twain "'Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

2--I believe your complaint is self-serving and without merit, especially considering your comments about 'my son' and 'doughnut shops'. You claim you 'have respect for our boys in blue'- however you fail to show any respect. You should show far more respect to those who choose to work in a profession with that much stress and risk for less pay than I make in my 9-5 where my biggest risk is a paper cut. There are a few 'bad apples', to coin a phrase, an ANY organization, but your blanket accusations are similar to saying 'all black people like watermelon and fried chicken'- and your statement's just as inflammatory.

In Summary, I think you're a putz. I'm going to sign off now - because I realized that arguing in a blog is similar to running in the Special Olympics - Even if you win, you're still retarded.

Bull your points were well presented and well written, however, I do take offense to your jaded or ignorant or hurtful ( you take your pick ) reference to the special olympics and being retarded and using them in a deragatory way. As the father of a special needs son myself, my son tries harder than any of us just to do what he able to do and and I am very proud of his accomplishments thus far in life and love him very much. The next time you want to put someone down that may piss you off, why not use some other term like idiot, or ignorant, or something else and try to refrain from insulting all those wonderful children of God and their very special parents who care for and love them on a daily basis. Try walking a mile in our shoes, it may help you to choose your insults more carefully.

Wow! I would have to guess that "THEtruth" was arrested or ticketed? I suppose we should start sending police officers into potentially life threatening situations alone and pay the tax dollars to train more as those are needlessly murdered? I live in St. Ann myself and recently witnessed a purse theft in my neighborhood from an old lady. I called police and when three St. Ann Police Officers showed up, I was glad to see them, the suspect was apprehended and the purse returned to the woman within minutes with nothing missing. The Officers of Hazelwood may have backup but that will make your neighborhood safer. I am proud of my local police and they are smaller than Hazelwood. Look at the poor Berkeley officer shot this year, or the Kirkwood guys killed last year, they live in a war zone. I am guessing you know what a "ganglike" mentality is, so I submit this question to you: If you are a soldier in a warzone, do you go it alone Rambo? Or bring your friends?

I would have to say that the Hazelwood Police Department spends a vast majority of their time giving people traffic tickets on Howdershell Road. There is almost always one or two cop cars staked out near Dollar General or Vanilla Moon. There seems to be an excess of police officers for the amount of actual crime that happens here. I'm not saying they don't do anything, but I think they could be a lot more efficient.

I can't help but wonder if the reason that there's relativly little crime is because of the fact there are plenty of officers to enforce laws and act as a deterrent?

THETruth That's odd - I didn't see many reports of "teenager with a pack of smokes" - I guess they were too busy eatin' doughnuts to write them.(Obviously, I've said that tongue-in-cheek)-

Bull- You seem very defensive as if i offended you, is it the fact that i made a point few people have the balls to question? or would it be better to waste valuable tax dollars so we can 'feel' safer when in reality crime will happen regardless? Im not saying we should have our officers go in 'rambo' style for dangerous situations, im saying there is FAR greater police-crime ratio.
Marty made a perfect example of my point, look on the crimereports.com website under hazelwood; 11 crimes commited between NOW and the beggining of october! 10 of which were classified as theft and 1 as breaking and entering.
There are currently 96 officers on the force and 11 crimes have been commited the whole month, do the math; Then tell me my statement is without merit.
Open your eyes people...

After reviewing your post #2 I believe I have met you. The flair of your arrogance reminds me of a guy I had a few drinks with. If you're the one who made reference to a Lesbian being a waste of p***y. I understand the level of your IQ.

I just trying calling Hazelwood Police Dept. tried 3 times and let it rig 5 minutes each time, good thing there wasn't a emergency. This city is a joke and so is its Police force. Ther had Missouri Bottom Raod shut down at Teson, the cop there license (4PD-131) had everone routed to go down Teson Rd, well, that road was blocked/shut down about a mile down the road, everyone had to turn around in the grass/mud. It was a mess, the cop that shut down the road was now where to be found, classless. I have seen them pull so many people over on Howdershell just feet froma side road during rush hour, and instead of asking them to pull over to the side road, the create a traffic jam. I am so glad I am moving away from the mess of a city, wouldn't want to live here any longer than I have to, the city and their police department are a joke.

I sure hope all you naysayers aren't expecting the police to protect you if someone breaks into your home while you're there or God forbid your kids are home after school by themselves.

The people that complain the most are the ones that will expect the most when a crime happens to them.
