I've lived here over 10 years and absolutely love the area.

I'd like to set the record straight as with any area in this country, you will find idiots and uneducated retards such as Nature Boy above.

There are several educated, professional, military trained, Christians, outstanding citizens and families that live here in the pines. Yes- the area is a bit remote, and rugged and that is why we live here. Most folks value their privacy, and want to be left alone.

So as with much of what you read in today's world, half of the comments written above are false, and full of crap.

I do want to put you current pot growers, and those thinking about it from other counties on notice....

I strongly suggest you tread lightly, and keep to yourself. We are watching very closely, and taking names. The last thing you want to do is call down us group of folks on your operations. I guarantee you will be sorry you crossed us here, and would be wise not to infringe on our lively hood and well being in ANY conceivable way. Either directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly, purposely or unpurposely.

There are those amongst us who you have no idea hold the level of capability to snuff out what you do and would love to take you out and send you on your way as we speak on a moments notice.

Trust me on that one.

Went out there to see my son . I was shooked to see such nice property still around that people like myself can still afford .We are buying are first property and it feels great.

I have been doing research for the last 18 months, hours a day . Where else can you buy property and be self sustaining?The place I lived had a 22 percent unemployment rate. Time to move ya think. I find my self in supreme beauty along with a self satisfaction that only comes from good hard work. Not the 9 to five air condition drone jobs that the better part of our country works.So those of you pointing fingers because of the way people CHOOSE to live and raise there family need to stop worrying about me . K . As for the JAR HEAD comment above me . We all want to be there . We all want respect. The trouble makers get run off . Your best bet is stick to your own advice and not effect others lives and or livelyhood. Bottom line is that no matter where you go in the three counties trinity , humboldt,mendicino.All the same it is a pot generated economy. if you cant live with that then im sure there are plenty of places for you.Example humboldt county was number 1 in the nation in new car sales last year.?? how many jobs you think that creates?Any of you willing to be there much respect. its a tough place. be kind to thy neighbor and may the sun shine britely on your patch....

I bought land here not long ago and have been vacationing in the pines for the last 15 years. All I want is peace and quiet .
I must say automatic weapon 9 pm shooting sprees are over the limit for me . Can anyone be a free spirit, without aggressively annoying every one around them? I mean, for example, can one grow pot without BLASTING heavy metal ? Can these people grow, or do whatever their thing is, without trashing their property and every one around it ? Unfortunately , in the last year or so things have gone over the line for me. One could be good neighbors with most of the old crackpots... Now the whole place seems to be terrorized by this new set of aggressive , inconsiderate people. Sad.
I believe they will be contained, if only by the fact that they are digging their on hole, but also by the fact that it is not smart to bite the hand that feeds you..Treat the pines well and it will treat you right...

If you think the land prices are high now. Wait till next year .I know of a lot of growers waiting for harvest to purchase more land out there and i have the most recent mls in my hand .Here are the facts as of right now there are only twelve lots on the market the lowest inventory since the land was subdivide in the late sixties .And prices are up over forty percent this summer alone.

The Trinity journal story on post mtn. Written by Sally Morris is a sad and misleading story first the roads in trinity pines are county roads not private ones .Second the roads are public access roads . Third Tom Onwiler was the first property owner to block a public access road in Trinity pines and is braking the law and putting the lives of children at risk .As for the remark that a grand jury can,t do anything but recommend things is wrong it is there duty to investigate fraud and to pass on there finding to the D.A .

I find trinity pines a very beautiful place. We have owned our place for 5 years an never once had a problem. If people would just stick to them selves and not worry about what ever one else is doing they would have no problems. Who cares what is growing in other people's propery. Its not on yours!

Considering people out there are resorting to not only disregarding others safety by having contests to see who can shoot the most bullets into the air but now they are shooting each other over only God knows what. Its absolutely rediculous... and they all wonder why only the crazys are left out in Trinity Pines!

I moved to Trinity Pines last year.

I recently (stupid me!) got lost hiking with my toddler...in the first week of October no less.

Thanks to the very polite young man who helped us get home.

I think the Pines gets a bad rep...all my neighbors are nice. Just don't stick your nose in others business!

You must be josh from northridge you have to ask yourself did firepower do you any good? If you where a good shot it would have helped...

Trinity Pines is all over the papers i just read about it in are local boston paper.We feel like going out there just to see such a place.

I owned out there for 20 years. Some old timers were trying to get electric at ridicules rates with property "tax" for the PUD. It was at about 200 per mo per parcel for a 20 year loan. It was stupid and then when people voted it down in the pines, the old timers started "narcing" on all the family growers to get them back . People been battling up there over pot , parcels, water and electric for the past 25 years. The is simply not enough water up there to "finish" the subdivision as you say.Great idea but will NEVER happen.

Are you kidding me? Is this place really that out of fcking control?

The Pines is far from "Out of Control". Most of the New inhabitants are hard working people who care about the land and the community. Don't believe the anti Pot propaganda. And as far as the guns...well we are legally armed Americans with the right to protect our selves, or target practice. Properly inform yourself..don't take someone else's word for it, only to have an ignorant uneducated opinion. And/Or mind your own business. And don't worry were watchin and taken names too. Careful Fundamentalists are all the same. So you might as well sport a towel on your head as well you damn christians.

Care about the land give me a brake .Some of those so called environmentalists that where protesting the logging being done by loggers that pay taxes now stand by and watch the place get trashed by pot growers who in some cases clearcut and then when they leave for the winter they leave there trash for the wildlife to spread around .Nothing but a bunch of lazy people that do nothing for the greater good of the community as a whole.We can remember when the p.u.d. up there protested about loggers using equipment out there now they stand by and let pot growers block the roads with gates what a joke.

To "right": You have a point there. For my part I think clear cutting is wrong , as well as inconsiderate pot growers.
It remains true for me that logging can be fine, as well as pot growing, in general. How it is done is usually the problem...if either involves ravaging a place I mean...
