Its unfortunate that cities don't stand up and fight these bu*&^*t lawsuits and send a message to these scumbag attorneys that if you want to represent a dirtbag you better have a legitimate case!

I understand these settlements are ultimately to save money because our society has become so weak and liberal, but this is out of control.

I guess it's because it's cheaper to settle then to let it go to a trial. If they would go to a jury trial, the jury will feel sorry for the dumb-ass and award him $20 million dollars, because they don't like the Police. Then they go home and wonder why the city is broke and they don't get their monthly hand-out's.

That atty will pocket about $150,000 for his share of the loot. The human pinata will go thru his share of the 'go away' money like chute thru a goose, faster than you can say 'lotteria' and "how much for da whole kilo?" Hopefully he will be broke, overdose and stroke out before he gets any more attention in the news....Ain't life grand?

why didn't the article mention what crime he was committing, if any, at the time of the incident? Usually if one side of te story is told, the other side is also told. is it possible that he didn't commit a crime?

Their was already a clear message sent. The conduct of the officers, if known to the public, would cost much more then the settlement, thus the settlement is a bargain.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Leo

Tread carefully if you're involved in a property deal or home improvement plan today, because someone might try to pull the wool over your eyes. They might forget to give you some vital pieces of information, or give you the soft soap treatment in the hope that you won't ask awkward questions. You're very trusting right now, but don't let that make you gullible.
