Three teens injured in Lincoln County ATV crash

What do you expect if they weren't wearing seatbelts and three young teenagers riding in an atv? They are not responsible enough at that age to do that.

I didn't know ATV's had seat belts. Do motorcycles have seat belts too?

The bigger ATVs like the 2-4 passenger vehicles used for hunting & farm work have seat belts, there genius.

They were riding a 2005 Polaris ATV according to the Highway Patrol's crash site.

And, pray tell, why were there three on this ATV? Poor choices end up with poor results.

Does anyone know the extent of their injuries?

From what I've heard, it's nothing life threatening, and no suspected brain injuries. One of them lost a bunch of teeth and has multiple broken bones in her face. One of the girls jumped off and had no real injuries. The boy has a concussion.

The boy and the girl was in ICU the boy has a fractured skull and 30 stitches plus so much more. All 3 children are all very lucky. And all of the Troy 8th graders had a prayer vigil after the dance on Saturday. I as a Troy resident and mother of an 8th grader that participated in the vigil am very proud of all the children for their prayers.

Yes, all of the students have been very supportive. I just hope they learned a lesson from it all. First of all, you don't go joy-riding on a four-wheeler with three kids, no helmets, and no brakes. It's a recipe for disaster. And that's exactly what happened. I hope all three make a full recovery. From what I heard, the driver jumped off before they hit the tree and wasn't injured. The other two got the brunt of the hit. So sad.

We Troy residents need an update on Lauren. We are praying for her and hope she has a speedy recovery.

All 3 sound like they're going to be okay. Does anyone think charges will be filed against the driver? Or the parents? I wonder how that will play out. If there is a civil suit, since the kids probably rode willingly, doesn't that remove some of the responsibility from the driver?

Regardless if they rode willingly, the driver had a duty to the passengers to drive the vehicle, whatever it was, in a safe, reasonable and prudent manner.
