<quoted text>Look at the stats from the era just before the depression and compare. Ten percent of children went to school. Need I even show more? Children were living on the street in mass.
Children worked in horrible factories.
Now actually address some of my specifics instead of focusing on the side word descriptions of the state of affairs.
Nice diversion though. Really, you should work for Fox news.
Yes, life is still no cake walk. But that is arguing for my side. Because the safety net does not stop suffering.
And we have addressed your points Mike. We just disagree with your opinion because it has no substance. Like your diverson with children working in horrible factory conditions. Diverson tactic playing to the hearts and minds. You will probably win over Seven with that though.

We just see through it. People have to do for themselves and they do. People govern themselves and they have.

True, some need help, but all are responsible for themselves first.

We already have these things you describe now. It has always been dog eat dog.
Seems to me the only thing I see from your rhetoric is that democrats and the like, which includes you, are jealous of people who have wealth.
I am sorry you have no wealth. I am sorry you have no legacy to pass on to your children other than a bar.
Again, how is that my problem? Because I put in the work, got educated and instead of expecting something to be given to me, I went out and earned it?? And that is my problem?
We have children working in sweat shop factories now? No, we do not.
We have only ten percent of children in school now? No, most children are in school and the few that are not is by choice (drop outs).
We have children living in the streets? No. Unless you call a teenager runaway a child. Any child can and will be giving food and shelter if they wish to have it, NOW.

People no longer are starving to death in America. Before the depression, hunger in America was a serious and regular problem. No longer.

If you really cannot see the difference between then and now, you are not really looking honestly.

A Communist/Socialist would not understand the true relationship between those inside of government and those outside of government, which is the relationship between slave and master. If you have the right to initiate the use of force to steal from free people and they fight back, that shows you essentially see them as your property. If you don’t believe me, go on over to Google and type in “slave definition,” and the first definition you will find is the following:“A person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them.” Now, doesn’t that sound a whole lot like the relationship between people inside government and people outside government? The relationship you are trying to protect. You are force people to do things against their will, then you are treating them as if they were your property. How does it feel to be a Master Mike Master Sir.
You are not legal property of the government and thus you can leave America anytime you wish. Slaves are not allowed to leave. You are stretching to try and tie the definition.
You cannot just chop half the sentence off the definition and still have it mean this.

Most of the laws of America force you to do nothing. Most are just telling you what you cannot do to others. Thus depriving them of their rights.

But again, if you wish not to pay taxes, you are free to leave the country. If you wish to have the benefits of America, you have to pay for them. So if you chose not to have them, you must leave.

This is freedom, not slavery.

Obama has cut taxes for the middle class.
It is not as if Obama wants the rich to pay more, he just does not want to keep the cuts Bush wrongly gave them. Bush cut to much for the rich.

Oh, Jesus wrote it with a little G? I thought he never wrote a word. And what exactly is the difference anyway?
And did I claim to be big G?

Man I am sorry you have no wealth or legacy to leave to your next of kin. I really am.
Your wealth management or legacy management is not my problem. It is your responsibilities and that responsibility should not be a burden for the rest of soceity to bear.
Thank you for your service protecting our freedom, including yours, but our military is all voluntary. Which means, unless you were drafted, you consciously signed your name.
Our greatest privledge as citizens of America is freedom of choice.
Legacies are not about money. Is money all you think about? I do not recall ones inheritance being called a legacy.
My son will not be handed a trust fund, well except some life insurance. He works for his own money now. He is a grown up.
Are you a trust fund kid like Mitt?

I had no clue her brother was disabled. But I feel quite certain he is not expecting a hand out either.
I have no problem not taking help from you Mike. I did it on my own before, so I can do it again.
Well according to Bacon, he needs one. She is pretty upset he is not getting one. He lives with his father and thus his income is considered. So the guy gets no help with his medical bills, which are really high.

What if you got in an accident or got ill? You cannot predict you will never need help.
But again, this is not all about you, it is what America has decided. America wants to help others so when or if they need it, others will help. It is reciprocation. It is only natural. Many species work on this principle.
Some consider it the base of morality.

Mike, thank you so much for your disengneuous act of caring, but my brother's bills are paid and without help from anyone. He also has made the choice to only receive maintenance care for the remainder of his life. There's no cure for CP or strokes and all this unnecessary medical treatment to tell him this is a waste of money. Sure, he always need help, but that's what family is for. Now only if we could get people who can work but won't off public assistance it would be great. For the life of me, I will never understand how people sit on their lazy butts, have children as a form of income and people like you think I ought to feel like it's my obligation to pay for their irresponsible lifestyle and feel good about it. Let me add, I'm not talking about people that have hit a rough patch due to the economy or some unforeseen problem they've encountered and need help until they get on their feet. It's the people that only get on their feet to do anything but work to support their family is the problem I have.

Mike, if you want a debate, then you back up your initial claim with stats and I'll see what I can do as a rebuttal. If it's specifics you want, you provide your specifics and I know it may take some time and I'll try to back up my rebuttal and that will take time.

Here is some pictures of things you do not see in America today. It is a start.
I am sorry you did not study history in America before. Maybe if you learned some history, you would not be so adamant about repeating it.
