Nevermind. He was the brother of my cousin's husband. Real bad news. But forget all that, Dave!! Did you see the latest news out of Darby Township? Some fat, white pig stole $100,00 from the Briarcliffe Fire Company. I said I'd try to keep up with the LOCAL stories. But how does she get that much money before anyone realizes it???? I don't get it! This happens all the time anymore. Don't people read the news and see that you can't give any one person total authority over group finances. People are just thick-headed, and dumb.

Still even that is not enough for the droves of shoppers about.That parketeria,was there since at least 1963.I knew a guy,was was featured in the local newspaper and tv news that was injured when he reported to a towing company about cars parking at McDonalds,to shop elsewhere.that very lot was all parking.Now there are more stores,less parking for the amount of shoppers there,the population rose 3 times,plus that Heather road parking is risky,in the way of robberies of shoppers,so not so many go there.I happened to be there early last summer,to give a ride to a freind that went to the Jewlwer on the corner,down from that parking lot.I went around a few times before a place was available,by that time,my freind was done.Even that lot was full.Anyway,that guy I mentioned at McDonalds,lived nearby and thats why he said he was hired,because parking was not adequite for all the stores there.Sure,there are lazy butts that pamper themselves so,want to double park.All those expensive vehicles,yet they leave them vulnerable to being sideswiped while double parked.guess they don't care enough about those caddys,Lexus,Mercedes with larger vehicles trying to get around them(buses,delivery trucks).

Damn the topix have been silent lately. Not just this one but all of them. I'm surprised that there are no more rants and ravings on here. Where's good ole Seank and Hoff at? Wanted to see how their lives are

I'm in school, trying to get my graduate degree. Also, I'm currently unemployed. So, between job hunting and college, I really don't have time for Topix.com .

11-5-09,7:15pm 2 gun shots fired near my home,seen 5 young black guys run aolng the ally,to the next street,then down that ally.The next night 11-6-09 11:58pm a more gun shots.Police were called by 3 residents,the next night,no one called.This guy a few doors away,about 22 yr.old,healthy I presume,being he walks about the neighborhood unfethered by any visible signs of disability,has nice things,2 cars,does'nt work.He goes about day and night hardly without the cell phone in use,goes up to the known drug dealers,very freindly with them,seen him more than once in a hurry to get in his home,also where the gunshots come from,that part of the ally.Back in June were 5 gunshots,shells found,then later in the summer I found a small black bag with 5 bullets(not used) in it.Last month I witnessed a guy climb a patio roof and break open the front bedroom window,I called 911 and the police came soon enough.Never before had there been gunshots in my neighborhood,break-ins rare.What happened to that slogan Chitwood put out "Not in my town scumbag"?

Curious that those events,plus others here never make it in the newspapers.

Good to hear that your in school and getting your degree and I'm sorry to hear about your unemployment. And Hoff I'm sorry to hear about those gunshots near your home. I know how you feel, I've been shot at before so I know that that was kinda disturbing to you. And Hoff, if your looking for the cops then tell them to take a break from sitting around the RCN building on 69th st. Tell them to concentrate more on actual crimes instead of stopping people for jaywalking.

Oh I have told them,even went to police headquaters to complain.I wrote 2 letters a few years ago about police "not around" when a constant random patrol would work best,and of course they did'nt like it.Since I did get a response from council and 2 gave me their calling cards,to inform them anytime they fail to do their jobs.That only works when I actually see them or interact with them.For example,just yesterday,this guy again parked on a fire zone directly across from an ally exit/entrance,which this guy did 4 times before and got 4 tickets for being there.Well,when he parks there on trash collection day,the trash truck cannot exit the ally.Then the driver sounds that air horn,thinking the driver lives nearby,he lives halfway up the street,so he does'nt bother him much.This guiy knows the trash truck comes down the ally on his block,but will still park where the truck can't leave.Last time the trash guys called the police.I called yesterday afternoon,because I know his suv will be there all night till afternoon the next day.I just don't understand his way of thinking.on the gunshots,3 neighbors called.I'm more angry than upset.Always was that way,getting angry when wrong is done.For all of us to live together in a community,rules are needed.No need to be a genious to fiqure that out.Obviously,not too many fiqured that out.Don't want to live by the rules,then those people should live in more rural areas.Otherwise,everything gets "F"ed up.When I heard the shots,I go to the window to see as much as I can.Risky yes,but is'nt life itself risky?I do use caution,just some things one has to take initiative,and take a chance,to make a difference.

Life is just grand, Davey old boy. I just haven't been online too much lately, but it's nice to know I was missed.

Yeah it's been awhile since being here.I have checked to see from time to time,just not much action here from the local U.D. citizens,which I pointed out before.There's enough issues to deal with in town,but as usual,not many bother to make a difference.Even as last August,I ttok a tour of the neighborhood with the mayor and other council members about the trash problem here,not one thing improved.We were told that the residents here have to be given 30days to respond or be fined.All that happened was a short lived cleanup,then of course,back to what it was before the effort to make change.Change has to come from within,people wanting change,not some pep-rally temporary bandage to the problem.the idiots behind me,tonight for the 989th time,still have'nt caught on to when they throw thier trash off the back porch,the bags break open everytime.Then they go down to pick up what fell out.Takes more work,effort to do it that way,then to just carry it out the back door.They never learn from their own mistakes.I can't make them learn(you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink),I can say what they do wrong,why the bags break,but they'll continue to do so next week to.

I try to set examples to learn from,post here,which I guess is the best way to communicate matters,as you said yourself,not much going on,not many on the town forums.
