The right to decide

It has been recently brought to my attention that the dance studio in Havelock is less than 1,000 ft. away from a sex offender therapy facility that has been in operation for several yrs.
This is not to debate if sex offenders can be rehabilitated. While I could this is an issue of making the parents who attend the studio and drop-in child care aware. If they still choose to use services than that is thier informed choice.
After speaking briefly with the Dr. who runs the therapy naturaly due to HIPPA she was not able to confirm nor deny. I understand that on her part. I do however wonder why i can pull up all thoose little red dots of where they live, but when 10 go to a meeting it's private.
The studio is fully aware and is intentionally hiding info for obvious reasons.Shame on them, shame on them.
Since finding this out I called the State Child care Division and they said that they only monitor licensed daycare and that one would'nt be allowed in that proximity. Drop in child care was ot regulated by them.I went to the city planning board who knew nothing about it. Next Chief of police who was very helpful but said it was more of a civil matter. My next step was a few local news stations some whom were interested. I than called the DA who is now contacting the Attorney General.
Whether it stays or closes is not my paticular issue I just want everyone to be able to make thier own decision.I would like to know how others feel.

Sex offenders can even be someone caught peeing on a tree

People get on those websites and see a pedphile or rapist behind every red dot,some ppl got charged and convicted for mooning,peeing in a alley and lots of other things other than pedo or rape

Well, i'm very sorry that you got caught peeing on a tree. Therefore as im sure you've paid your debt to society, you did'nt have to attend any sex offender meetings as you did'nt qualify. You must be a certain level offender to attend, you know forced sex, sex with a minor thoose kind of offenses i'll not argue this with you at sll. You are now informed so take your child to dance.

I do know about the red dots to which you refer, you are able to read all offenses, if you choose to. You are now an informed parent, please do your homework and know the level offender you are to be reqiured to attend this particular group therapy. Take your child to dance but be aware of surroundings at all times.

Never got caught peeing on a tree,a guy in Havelock I knew did.He and the cop had a long running problem between them and he was charged with public lewdness but was later reduced something he ended up paying a $25.00 and court costs but he was still listed a a wieny waver til he croaked last year
