Woman arrested for underage drinking after foot chase

Needs to be placed in a program. Most likely she will not take it seriously and because she has to WANT the help. A good thing is she has not been driving while drinking. Or at least has not been caught. That is in the future.

Underage means underage! What doesn't she understand? Why would a young adult want to do this to themselves? There is so much more in life than drinking alcohol. If drinking is the only time she has a good time, she needs some help.

Most people drink because they want to. It just makes them loosen up and feel better.
Who makes the funniest commercials, Drink Responsibly PSA's or Bud?(Actually the "Over the Limit" ad is funny. The interior of a guy's car is filled with a pool of booze as the cop asks him if he's been drinking).

This girl, however, had a few drinks with friends in college and now has to have this hanging over her head forever.

This is a sad, pathetic society people. The law isn't preventing anything, but it seems to be keeping our cops in shape. How much domestic violence went unchecked because of this little footrace?

Let's guess. Michelle's high school GPA was very low, she was admitted and takes remedial high school level courses, and does not miss a party. She really isn't a student. Just keeping a seat warm when she's in class. Skips classes often. Should not actually be in college and will drop out.

Lets lower the drinking age to 18 where it should be anyway u can vote at 18,buy cigarettes at 18, drive a car 80-100 mph down the road but u cant drink and we pay cops and courts to run them through the legal system while cars r running 90mph down the road doesnt make much sense to me!!!!

She obviously isn't a el. ed major because after the first drinking offense, she would have been kicked out of the program.

Almost every study found that increasing the minimum drinking age to 21 saved lives (an average decrease of 16 percent) and that lowering the minimum drinking age to 18 or 19 caused an average increase in crashes of eight to 10 percent.

Too bad you can't investigate domestic violence since it has to be reported. I don't think the police can go into homes checking on relationships. But I guess you already knew that since you sound like a know it all. You may think that underage drinking is petty, until you have someone related to you or otherwise be a victim of it being DUI, criminal mischief, or alcohol poisoning. So you think that police should just turn their heads away from it since it is soo previlent in SHIP? That's a great resolution. Plus this girl getting caught for a 3rd time should throw up a red flag. Some people need to think before they speak.

The kids who have "earned" the right to be Ship students, should be dismissed immediately upon the first offense, and let their parents take care of them, instead of warming a seat they obviously don't care about occupying seriously. School is a privilege, not a right. If kids cannot pass a drug test, don't let them in, if kids won't abide by the laws of civility send them home to be dealt with. Money shouldn't be the reason they can stay in school. Behaviour and respect should.

My greatest argument against lowering the consumption age to 18 is that high school students will develop a new avenue to get themselves and underage friends drunk.(that includes your sweet 16 daughter).
Operating on the theory, the 18 year old can legally buy the stuff for himself and will share it with friends.
Revamp the proposal to state that the 18 y.o. must be out of secondary school. Mandate stiffer penalties for furnishing to minors and I'm on board.

3 strikes - come on kid, use your head. Rights of passage, everyone tries it Etc. 3 arrests your future looks dim. If you are a student going to a state school - bravo! This is cost effective. But if you do not hit the books and you are only there to hide/party for 4-6 years stop! Go home and save your parents a ton of money. Why should they support this "adult" yelling into phone for another semester? Try working and attending community college at the same time and hey, slide the folks a few bucks now and again. Wake UP!
