A comment to Olatunji Mwamba - What are you talking about? I would like you to prove anything stated in your letter. The only racism in education is the fact that blacks will get into most colleges with lower scores than whites or Asians. Banking, please... if this were true, the government would be over lenders. The decisions in loans and interests rates are based solely on credit scores. Don't blame whitey if you have a poor credit history. "Terrorism that African-Americans have suffered", yeah - explain that one to European-Americans Zach Sowers and the lady on the MTA bus!

What about the african-immigrants that come to the united states to take advantage of this countries programs and policies that attempt to level the playing field for minoirites?

O by the way, these days, an african-immigrant would have more to fear from an african-american than any other group.

Fem - I am not ignoring the fact that racism exists in America. I've listened to WOLB many times and the racism you hear there is off the charts. But your bumber sticker response did nothing to rebut the facts in my previous post.

About Dr Grasmick - some guy named boyd wrote a comment. He had all the words there, but in the wrong order. The welfare of the children is most certainly her reason for staying on in her position. omalleys reason for wanting her out is purely personal -ego you know. The school board made the right decision for the kids. 16 years and how many governors and he is the only one who has a problem with her. It is all about her recommending state takeover of the sub standard schools in the city. (which, by the way was under his rule) She is an embarrassment to him, but he should be more embarrassed by the city schools.

Grasmick resign? Are you kidding me? She is one of the only independent voices in State government today, and there is a reason her position is independent. Do we really want another O'Malley puppet in government? I guarantee you that most, if not all, parents and teachers in MD want her to stay. Maybe that should be more important than O'Malley's little power play.

But, I guess, given the way we've allowed our president to make or break any rule he wants, we should be used to this. O'Malley wants more money? Sure! Have a special session, where no ordinary citizen has a voice and you can get all the extra money you want! Want your own person in charge of schools? Sure! Sue to overturn the law keeping you from getting your way! I am SO proud to be a Marylander...

Yes, racism still exists in America....blacks have taken over that role....however they still hold the record for crime. I'm sure those that "really" have ancestors who were slaves, have ancestors who are proud of them.
