Diverse show of pride

This is a joke, sorry I never have nor will I ever go to one of these events. It's an embarrassment to the gay community. I went down to dinner last night and embarrassment to gay by the way these people acted! Each to own, but as a gay man, I keep what I do in private at home so others don’t need to see it. It’s also a shame that men have to act like women and dress up in woman’s clothing. So what if you are gay, stop acting like a woman! And trust me I am not the only gay man in Columbus that can’t stand the way the community is.

I agree with you. I am a "straight man" and it makes me vomit to witness the public display of kissing and laying on pool tables "making out". My wife and I do not lay on pool tables and do displays of sexual acts.

How refreshing to hear the truth. Even the city council wanted to vote in another Lesbian from Stonewall Union as an unelected representative. Our state and local reps march in the parades to assure the votes. The poor sick drags will never be anything but victims of their own making. All of this does not represent the overwhelming majority of decent gays and lesbians. Why would someone "choose" to be gay to be ridiculed and defamed by people like you? Do you really think they want to "recruit" (really?? this is 2009 for Pete's sake) kids and others into a group that faces so much hate? Why would someone do that purposely?? Get a grip, and instead of taking what is said in the Bible so literally, remember it was written by scholars (not Jesus or God), to help gude us in how we should lead our lives...including how to treat others.

Yes, they do. I have been hit on four times and I can name names, two of them are family members.

Here's how you can work it out within yourself.

Consider a gay man to be a woman trapped inside a man's body. The woman within the body "hits" on you the same as a hot chick "hits" on you; because you are a hottie turn-on (its all your fault ;P

It is a compliment to your good looks and magnetic personality; not an insult.

It's very sad that the only pictures the Dispatch showed are the drag queens and the boys in underwear. That was a very small part of the parade and the pride event. There were over 100,000 of your typical everyday people. But why would the dispatch want to show pictures of that.

I also seem to remember, after 12 years of Catholic education, all those parts of the new testament which rejected those ideas. Jesus spoke of loving our neighbors. I seem to remember things about casting the first stone, love your neighbor and other revolutionary ideas of peace and love. If you recall, Jesus often shocked his followers by dining with lepers, conversing and caring for the Samaratins-all outcasts in that day.

It's amazing that those who want to hold the bible and religion as the sole authority on life tend to forget some of those passages.

Verysad, they had pictures of the marching band, the married couple, and the flag bearers. So it wasn't just the drag and party boys.

Newspapers customarily show the best of a parade in the pictures, just like Disney does it.

Pictures of 100,000 everyday people are reserved for the revolution in Iran; and that, my dear, is no parade.

Millions of dollars in tax revenue, hotel tax revenue, vendor revenue, food revenue, car rental revenue, parking revenue, sales revenue, etc, etc. MILLIONS that the city truely needs. Thank you visitors and residents!
