Boy, the neighborhood cabal is pretty tight-lipped. Nobody knows nothing and if they do they ain't telling the local news.
Here's a map to the area: http://maps.google.com/maps... map of the neighborhood |

According to The Oakland Press, this was a murder-suicide involving Joseph Peter Valentino II and his wife, Lucille Champoux Valentino. Both had gunshot wounds to the head, Mr. Valentino's being reported as self-inflicted.
Mr. Valentino was listed as Vice President of the Lakes of Milford Homeowners Association. Neighbors and colleagues expressed shock at the incident. A local funeral home receptionist says the family are "adamant about keeping the press away." Nobody is speculating on motive. |

OAKLAND PRESS reported today that the medical examiner cited cause of death as "multiple gunshot wounds" with a .22 caliber rifle.
Joe Valentino worked closely with Brian P. Purdom of RTI Property Management Company and was a board member with the Lakes of Milford Homeowner's Association. Neighbors said he was also a veteran and worked as a consultant. DETROIT FREE PRESS reported, "Investigators believe money problems led Milford resident Joe Valentino to use a rifle to shoot his wife and the family dog last week before turning the gun on himself three days later in their upscale suburban subdivision." Deputy Investigator Bernardino Pacris said, "That's the only reason, I believe, because of financial problems," Pacris said this afternoon after investigators talked to the Valentinos' family. "What I was told was there was some financial difficulty." A neighbor said Valentino was a member of Milford's VFW, a management consultant who worked out of his home and a "tough businessman". |
