"police arrested 18 year old Isaiah Powers, 16 year old Montek Mastin and a 15 year old, for robbery." -Let me guess, poor little black boys... Now I have to see the mothers and grandmothers and great grandmothers (because they are only in their 50's) crying in front of the courthouse on the news "standing by" the actions of these "innocent" Pisspots...

It is encouraging that the police have involved themselves as they have in the University district. I would say that the coordination and various tactics used to apprehend those individuals will be employed in the Crime and Drug ridden EAST SIDE especially in areas boardering Cheektowaga and a certain Schiller park area. Bravo to the Buffalo Police.

i hope these young boys get the help that they need and understand the consequences of their actions. i am sorry for the victims of these crimes. i agree with miss chang, stay safe and dont go out alone!! especially you ladies :)
i am incredibly saddened that in this day and age, racism is still alive and well. now take that racism, multiply it by a million, and spread it all over people in power. then maybe you will see the effects of oppression on an entire people.
but thanks for saying it to my face and not behind my back, previous commenters. have a blessed day.

The police effort is commendable, but it is a mere drop in the bucket of crime in that area. The only way to stem crime in that area is to move the colledge operations out of the area. That neighborhood needs to "empty out", before it can be tamed.

I am incredibly saddened that in this day and age black people commit 99% of the crimes and still have the nerve to call anyone racists- Oppression- seriously the only people oppressing the black race is all the black mothers and fathers who continue to raise their kids like animals. Go to any Buffalo public school and you will see teachers trying to change the ignorance and disrespect black people teach they're children. You can only change people who want to be changed. I really can't even believe you have enough guts to write how your whole race is oppressed- what about Obama? That’s the difference some black people try to succeed and overcome stereotypes while the rest sit at home unemployed using their race as an excuse to never make anything of themselves. Truth Hurts

I have to agree. We continue to give inner-city high school students every opportunity to succeed, but they care more about "bling" and image rather than paying attention and getting good grades. I cannot say that all students are like that, but 90-95% of them are. For those percentage of students, the sterotypes are true.

Truth Hurts i have to apologize wholeheartedly. there is no point in arguing. you will never know what it is like to have your children called 'animals', or to have someone call you 'well-spoken' or 'a credit to your race'. you will never be judged by people in power by the color of your skin. if your views keep you comfortable, then who am i to change them. again, i wish only the best for those affected by these crimes. god bless.

Stop using racism to make your point. How about that? White's are racist and so are blacks. The only problem is african americans cant seem to get off their asses to do something with their life and neighborhood. Instead they cry rasicm every chance they get, like your doing. Grow up and realize there wouldnt be racism if your "kind" actually did something for themselves LIKE OBAMA.

I don't care what race anyone is, but if I hear any parents of these kids saying any of this I will throw something at the TV:
"He's a good boy! He's nice to everyone! He looks after his young brothers and sisters! His smile lights up a room! He has a bright future in music! He was just in the wrong palce at the wrong time with the wrong crowd! It could have happened to anyone!"

Come on...look at how many black "good" kids are in jail and compare that to white kids. Then look at high schools and college students. I live in UB and black kids are loud and do have attitude. Walk our streets. Tell me who the uneducated people are. I know there is white trash, but the problems of guns and violence is a problem stemming from the black community and going wild everywhere. And, yes I am black. My mama didn't raise a fool.

17% of the general population makes up 70% of the prison population in this country.
40 years worth of social/entitlement/equality programs and what has it gotten us? A culture that embraces a "thug" lifestyle, were snitching on someone who commits violent crimes is frowned down upon by the community at large. Better to blame YT then deal with the problems in your neighborhood. Im sure that we will all here about how they were good kids, aspiring rappers and how they were planning on attending medical school right after they got a GED and came of probation.
Send them to prison were violent felons belong for the maximum sentence they they earned by their actions. Oops wait we cant do that because it would be racist.

Sorry, but, when you act like animals, you will be called animals.
