I enjoy muscle cars, racing and fast cars, but racing is for the tracks, not for the streets. Only idiots do that at great risk of harm to the public and themselves.

the police can make 149 arrest for street racing but catch 0 in murder cases something is wrong here.

About flippin' time! Now that HPD knows who these people are (they've probably known for a while), will they finally be able to keep them off the streets?!! The streets are horrendously dangerous once these so called races are finished.

Smitts loves the races wrote: I got busted last year on Jennings (W Service) when they did the last crackdown. It doesn't stop racing...arrests just provoke more hate towards cops. Cops are corrupt. This is just a great way to make money/ get free community service hours for Hartford. We know theres a $30 billion budget deficit in CT..How f*ing dangerous could it be at 2am on desolate service roads? Let's get real. Pigs, spend some time catching the REAL criminals...BTW, how many tracks are there in the Hartford area? This is gonna sound crazy but why don't you and your loser street racing friends get a job so that you're not up at 2 am acting like a-holes... Become part of the solution. LOSER!!

Wow, I'm shocked. The person who wrote the article actually got it right by calling it street racing instead of drag racing. Now if only the cops would bust real criminals instead of picking on all the car geeks, the US would be better.

Anyone remember what the Berlin Turnpike was like? Businesses LOVE car groups that and no town or city is going to have a problem with that. Very good for business! It changes when MORONS start racing in the streets. That's the line and they're risking innocent people. No matter if you are a vehicle enthusiast of any sort or not, we all know that. Highways are just as bad, remember last summer when several motorcycles got splattered hitting a tractor trailer on 91? Those morons destroyed what was at one time a really neat, enjoyable night on the Turnpike many many years ago. Berlin and Newington did it right, the police cruisers are laid out about every 500 ft by dark on weekends in the summer on the Turnpike now.

Who in their right mind would reside in an area that is filled with no job gangsters selling drugs and killing human beings at the drop of a hat? I don't want to hear it's all I can afford. There are too many programs available for all people. You choose to live there so deal with it.
