I am a State Employee..Everyone That works with me knows who the people are that "Are Not Be Messed With"
Alot Of Us Have Made Complaints.. Only to hear Supervisors say things like.. So and So (high ranking officials in Hartford) is A Personal friend of mine..They don't think twice about picking up the phone and calling their buddies in Hartford to find out the latest on whats going on and how they can get rid of the problems that they (our supervisors) have caused.
When the news of this blog began to circulate around my place of work..We all sat back and listened how the powers that be (our supervisors) chuckled because upon calling Hartford to complain about people writing and complaining about them, they were told not to worry, they were told that things like this get written all of the time, and how it doesn't mean anything.
Isn't that sad, we the employees get mistreated and abused, yet our stories are a JOKE to the higher ups.
I personally have made complaints regarding supervisors, and guess what.. things were either dragged on, or nothing ever happened. When I ask for answers, I'm told by another supervisor that they are not supposed to discuss that with me. I am forced to work with a supervisor that has mistreated me and humilated me in public. I'm scared to go any further. "Troublemakers" usually get moved in my job, and our union is so pathetic that it is impossible to trust that they will protect you. I've learned to be quiet .. to protect my job.. to be able to continue to pay my bills and take care of my children. It's a sad thing I must admit that I've allowed this to continue. Most of the Blogs on here are very true. People are scared to come forward in any other forum.. Judicial is powerful, far more powerful than any of us..
I'd like to know where to go from here..but not willing to risk my job to do it..
I don't know where to go from here...

Keep the faith. Help is on the way. There won't be anyone left in Hartford to call, or at least who will be worth calling.

WHAT IS IT YOU WILL YOU DO?!
Let's all concede, that the administration in the CT judicial branch is f-cked, yes!!?? So what do you do?
Come on taxpayers, don’t tolerate this….what will/can you do? Get on board and demand a change –you’re paying alot of taxes, yes? Pay for something you feel will be to your benefit…a FAIR JUSTICE SYSTEM! Don’t let your tax dollars be manipulated/wasted. Advocate for what you want – bigger voice in the judicial/legislative/executive branch, better school systems, more public transportation, new roads, more independent businesses…speak the FREAK UP!!!!!!!! It won’t happen unless you talk about/advocate for it. Don’t sit around waiting for it to happen. Make it your business to get it accomplished.
That is what is happening here (on this blog). PEOPLE WANT CHANGE!!!! Please be proactive and supportive by saying that things aren’t the way they should be. Offer suggestions. Get on-board and DO something to change things. Because they are currently being severely mismanaged.
This is why people (foreigners) think America is great and come here – the ability to imagine/believe a better way of living is possible and make steps (however small) into that reality of their dream, and believing it can be had.
Please stop taking everything for granted…it’s only as good as you’re willing to contribute, or stand up for. America was founded on beliefs, wasn’t it?!
…“people are created equal, whether European, Native American, or African American, and that these people have fundamental rights, such as liberty, free speech, freedom of religion, DUE PROCESS OF LAW, and freedom of assembly.”
Everyone, vote for/or create the government you want – please!! FYI – WE can /are the decision makers. VOTE intelligently. SPEAK UP if offended. DO MORE!!! Less criticism, and more action is what is REALLY NEEDED.
Cambridge...good to see you back in print again...you words truly do motivate me..."let freedom reign."

I am retired and have never worked for the State. I have been reading this blog and I find the allegations made by State workers very disturbing and credible.
How about some anti-nepotism legislation?

The awful truth is you have to hire an attorney and most of them want you agree to settle- this means taking a year or two of pay and "retiring."
Seems to me that is the problem-- everyone and I mean everyone is afraid- the press because they do not want to be left out when there is a story- the public because if they have to go to court well you know how that goes and the employees because the Branch makes an example of the ones who speak out.

ONE OF THE PROBLEMS ANY INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL WHISTLE-BLOWER OF CONNECTICUT JUDICIAL BRANCH CORRUPTION FACES IS THE VERY REAL POSSIBILITY AND PROBABILITY THAT INDIVIDUALS SUCH AS JOSEPH D'ALESIO CAN WILL FIX ANY AND ALL LAWSUITS OR COMPLAINT PROCESS THAT THREATENS TO EXPOSE AND REMEDY UNLAWFUL AND UNFAIR JUDICIAL AND CONNECTICUT GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES CONDUCT. ONLY A CORRUPTED AND RACKETEER INFLUENCED COURT ADMINISTRATION CAN INTIMIDATE, FRIGHTHEN AND OPENLY HARM SO MANY INNOCENT EMPLOYEES , JUDGES, AND CITIZENS AS DOCUMENTED ON THIS POST AND OTHER COMMUNICATIONS. CONGRESS SHOULD INVESTIGATE CONNECTICUT JUDICIAL CORRUPTION. AND PUT A STOP TO IT.

Who will stand up to help? This is crazy and very honestly, I have better things to do with my money than pay taxes so these guys can keep giving their friends jobs and punishing employees who speak up.
And, dosen't this punishment take time out of our taxes? I heard they have this guy who just goes around collecting statements.

I completely agree. All this is a huge waste of tax dollars.

It is so common to see a bunch of dedicated hard working employees (in many job markets) try to make their working environment better (or just normal, in this case), and the real obstacle they faces is bad mismanagement. Truth is, if management can't help you or even worse - it's THE PROBLEM, you don't really have any recourse. The best to hope for is that the amount of vocalization and persistence of those employees will eventually get recognized by someone who has the authority (and intelligence) to make smart decisions and get rid of the useless and destructive managerial employees.

Someone needs to recognize the waste of time, money and resources that goes into all this unnecessary appeasement of personal connections at the expense of so many. It's disgusting really.

How about this? A supervisor back in January stated he was going to use up all of his sick time. He then started to do so and has been out ever since. This supervisor makes in excess of 80K a year and while out continues to get both sick time and vacation time. If he were to retire he would just get his pension.

The point is...the system is broken. We are all just recognizing/commiserating about the problems we face, here on this blog. Isn't that what this is for? A public forum to discuss all those things that are wrong with the system. Generate some feedback, get ideas, as how we as a group (or even individually) can make a change - yes?!

And, has anyone come up with a way to get this mess acknowledged in some way?

The point is when people work for the state- they do not get all their sick time as paid time. I believe they get 25% of it.
Now, if someone who makes more than 80K a year has 15 to 16 months of sick time, you can see it is costing the taxpayers. To be able to announce that the person plans to use all of their sick time up when there is a budget crisis is wrong. That's the problem.

Yet we all go to the polls every year and blindly pull the same lever for the same people in party-line fashion. Perhaps we all need to wake up and look more closely at the candidates before voting next time. Try voting for the "person" and not the "party", as both Repubs. and Dems. take our votes for granted and have re-election down to a mathmatical science using polls, voter registration lists, etc. They herd us like cattle to the polls and all of us droopy-calf's pull the lever we are told to. Let's start using our heads and vote out EVERYONE and start with a clrean slate.

i know the state of connecticut judicial branch is "broken". employees rights to a non hostile work place are broken daily. people are told to shut up or else. when a jd employee knows of fraud, waste, corruption he, she , they must participate in the concealment if they want to be safe. it appears they have no safe place to go to report connecticut judicial corruption. no police, fbi, inspector general, auditor, court, judiciary committe, president, no where to go apparently all public institutions set up to protect connecticut and the citizens thereof are broken because of unfair influence and corruption. you, i and the rest of the people of connecticut are whats left. it is up to us to collect our facts, dates, and names, and prosecute to effective remedy.

Judicial is a disgrace. You are absolutely right. There is no safe place. Even when you are invited to a so called investigatory hearing where you are led to believe it is to help you, it is DEFINITELY a place for management to gather their info under false pretenses in order to proceed right to damage control. SO SO SAD AND DISGRACEFUL

Having had some expierence with how things are turned on the non managerial employees-- how about this. Management has been allowed to share employee's personal information with whom they choose.
So, in addition to being bullied, threatened, treated unfairly-- now we have our right to privacy taken by them.

well, thank goodness there are still some of us who are unafraid to speak out. I too have the label of being a whistleblower, and now they're all playing the retaliation game, as only corrupt judicial can, and I mean to tell you, they are DIRTY players. I am now being accused of being in violation of the violence in the workplace judicial branch policy, well the only weapon is my mouth, and they can't intimidate me to keep it closed. I have made numerous complaints, and all that happenes is they turn it arund on me, after all, I must be the crazy one, because I tell the TRUTH about this corrupt system, and I'm going to go as far as the Hartford Courant and expose all of them--they are such small, classless people, it really is a pathetic environment to work in.
