Well, I guess it's up to us to get rid of him. Vote him out next time.

What do you have to do to the democrats to get punished? Run as a republican?

This decision, in support of reconciliation by Senate Democrats, is the correct one. It is consistent with Obama's message. It is also a pragmatically correct decision, because it strengthens the possibility of a cloture proof Senate. The vindictive, small minded, left wingers in CT are out of luck.

Total disappointment in the lack of any real Senate actions towards Lieberman, but, what else is new? Our government is the good ol'boys club where its members are never responsible or held accountable for their action. No wonder the U.S. Senate has a popularity rating lower than Bush's! ONLY WAY FOR JOE (AND CHRIS) TO GO IS FOR US TO VOTE THESE TWO A#*HOLES OUT!

it shouldn't matter what party you are a member of once you get elected your supposed to work for your constituants reagrdless of what party they are. so i guess lieberman should get punished for thinking for himself and not towing the line.

If many recall it wasn't Lieberman's decision to run as an indenpedant. There was the primary and Ned "Where is he now" Lamont was chosen. But when the General election came who won the Senate seat again We the people voted him back in. If you alos reacall his fellow democrats stumped for him Dodd"Joe is a good man and he will fight for us in Washington" Day after the primary "Ned the people of Connecticut have spoken the want a change in Washington." All the Democrats acted like Lieberman didn't exist. I voted for Lieberman just to show that you stay behind you friends no matter what. As for termn limits that is why we have elections every so many years to throw the bum out

To tell you the truth, I would rather have Lieberman caucus with the Republicans than have him scrutinize Obama as Homeland chair if Obama does something that might displease Lieberman. Lieberman is a two-faced backstabbing traitor who is more loyal to Israel than he is to the U.S.

This was a no-brainer. With a razor thin filibuster-proof majority within their grasp, why would the Dems drive out Lieberman and risk his defecting to the Republican side? Two words: Jim Jeffords

Does anyone ask what the perception is of Connecticut voters by the rest of the country, given the behavior of the two persons representing us in the U.S. Senate? One uses his office to line his own pockets and the other has no loyalty to his party. A traitor and a cheater are the kind of people Connecticut has elected to the Senate. But why should anybody be surprised: Benedict Arnold was from Connecticut.

Let's see.... the Senate wanted to punish Lieberman for voting his conscience ....the Senate voted to support a war but when it became politically incorrect to support it, they turned against it .... not senator Lieberman tho ... he realized the danger of Islamic terrorism and kept his support against the terrorists..... it was the Democratic Party that deserted the Senator over this when they backed Ned Lamont ... Lieberman gets elected on the basis of his political convictions ... Lieberman again backs the fight against Islamic Terrorism by supporting McCain and not goose-stepping to the party line .... now.... the party of tolerence and unity wish to punish the good senator for his heresy in a "secret" ballot ( the party of "change" ...remember it was the R party that was too secretive) hmmmmmm .... intersting

Too bad Joe reconciled with the Democrats, I was really hoping that he would remain an independent and vote according to the wishes of the people of the state of CT but, positions are greater than doing the peoples work. He could have used his position to get better things for the people of CT but now he is just another lemming in the Democrat party. Next election THROW THE BUMS OUT. Dodd is first.

The Connecticut State Democrats collectively voted and decidedly rejected Joseph Lieberman and with very good reason. It is a shame The Democratic Senate body did not display the same wisdom. Lieberman and his Republican base must be laughing themselves to sleep. This will be his last go-around, both he and his wife have limited time to make their consulting money. Regrettably, that is what it’s all about. Just how much shame can we bear?

This proves it! You can't be a Democrat and have any opinion outside of the greater collective! For all you kiddies out there, let this be a lesson for you..... To be a "good Democrat" you must submit to the effects of group think and have no personal opinion and/or backbone.

Far too deep... You have to keep it warm and fuzzy, safe and simple - like the New Socialist/Marxist leader did during the elections. They "feel" that they can undertsnad this because it takes the cognitive strian away and lets their little emotions run willy-nillie...... Besides, if the Mayans were correct, we don't have to worry about such petty things come the Solstice of 2012!(smirk). We'll have FAR more important concerns than politics..... Marshmallows, anyone?
