" Mr. Piland said his first reaction was to protect his son, and that neighbors said they feared for their safety." Yes they feared so much for their safety but it doesn't say anybody called the cops. Also they eluded to the Petit case in Cheshire, if that were the case all the more reason to call the cops how did he know someone else wasn't going to enter his house while he was out chasing the prankster. While I believe there are a lot of punks out there this was excessive.

Hmmm wrote: <quoted text> Yeah, well unless you keep your child chained up on a leash then stating that you know where they are every single second of the day or night is plain bulsh. Are you saying your child never goes outside and if he does, do you follow them?? Does your child never go to a friend's house?? You'd be singing a totally different toon had it been your child who ended up bloodied and bruised and requiring medical service and an anbulance after being beaten and choked by a full grown man. Actualy your quite correct in MY house my son would need a little bit more medical attention as I WOULD HAVE BEAT HIS AZZ even MORE!!!In this day and age you don't play these games! If you research the neighborhood where these things happen it can get a very different response! Trust me after the Cheshire incedent we don't play games in our neighborhood! I live very close to where that happened trust me these neighborhoods within 3 miles of the Dr's house would be lethatl for a theif right now. Many of my neighbors went out and bought guns alarm systems you name it I bet if you break down in your car anywhere from Dairy Queen to the four corners in Prospect Bethany line YOU BETTER HAVE A GOOD REASON TO BE STOPPED FOR MORE THAN 3 minutes on the side of the road!I myself chased several kids in a hi speed chase with police later in tow (my attitude was and still is: I'll deal with the cops later right now noone and I mean noone gets away!)As parents YOU have a resonsibility to sit there azzes down and tell them what a dumb move is! Its your problem too explain that what they think is funny can be perceived as a dangerous act. If you think I'm full of it your WRONG! The kids I chased aren't going to do it again I can asure you that! There father wasn't to entertained and the police (actualy all of us) screaming at eachother left quite a message in there young minds. And I already know it worked because I heard all about me through other kids in my kids classes. Remember its better to be feared than respected. It may sound nuts but think about when you were young "and put your stupid ego down for a minute" and take yourself back to your youth, there was someone you new that was just nuts you didn't walk through there lawn you didn't step near that house for haloween and you told all your freinds any new developments etc that ever happened at that house! Well it works its that simple!!!This 13 year old will not be a problem anymore I bet you on it!

They had no idea who was casing their homes. After the person was caught they found out. Anyway, this is not the issue. The lawsuit is about the POLICE LYING in their report. That is the MAIN focus of what is going on now.

If the police did lie, I hope the guy wins
Police perjury in criminal cases is so pervasive that “hundreds of thousands of law-enforcement officers commit felony perjury every year"
· Police Officers are almost taught how to commit perjury when they are in the Police Academy
· Police perjury is not anecdotal. Many commission reports prove rampant abuses in police departments throughout the United States

wow wrote: Yes, the kid was wrong for skulking about and a "ding dong ditch" can be annoying. I can even see how he may have though the kid was a burgler. But it still seems a little excessive. However, why is this a lawsuit? How were his rights violated? A Sergeant, Prosecutor AND a Judge would have had to sign off on an arrest warrant for it to be issued. And what is the "extortion"? God forbid a cop do his job and arrest people for crimes. Lying is not the job of the police and the lies were given to the states attorney. This is the crime and the basis of the lawsuit. It does not make sense unless you are intimate with the case

seen it all wrote: <quoted text> Now those are intelligent statements.(Not) The actual persons being untruthful here are the Lawyer(s)and the idiot who plead guilty and got probation. Now he sues the cops claiming they lied. Well, why plead guilty and accept probation ? What a society ? You obviously do not understand that he did not plead guilty. He was given the AR program. He does not have a record and the charges do not exist anymore. This was the wisest thing for him to do. Why should he have wasted time and money for doing the right thing.
