4 Let me explain to you the financial slight of hand that the BHO and the Democrats in Congress are trying to pull on you and many Americans. There is no real tax cut. All that has happened is that the tax tables were revised to lower the tax withholding on many American's weekly pay beginning April 1, 2009. As a result of this, American's who would get a tax refund next spring, may still get a refund, but it will be a smaller amount and represent the difference between the historic withholding and revised withholding. Aside from this, the Treasury sent small stimulus checks to Americans earning less that $75,000 ($150,000 for a family). As with the 'stimulus' checks in 2008, I suspect that these monies will be used to repay bills and will not stimulate the economy at all. |

4 The Tea Party protests were not just about federal tax hikes, they're about excessive government spending, bailouts, state and local tax hikes, sales and use taxes, gas taxes, increased tolls, new fees and permits, etc. etc. etc. There's alot more to taxes than the federal income tax. Just because Obama shifted your federal income tax burden to next year, doesn't mean you aren't going to be paying more in taxes now. |

3 The tax protest movement is nothing new. It has just shifted into high gear due to the massive government spending of the Bush administration and Obama's accelerated spending. Just take a look at Bush and Obama's deficit spending. http://tinyurl.com/cj2n5o Who's door is the government going to come knocking on when it needs to pay back that debt? Even taxing the millionaries at 100% won't pay for it, yet they're still proposing more spending every day! |

1 I for one am SICK of all of the jealousy and envy. I suppose this puts everyone where Obama wants them. Divide the conquer. United we stand, divided we fall. Everyone is on the dole and Obama and company are rulers for life. I hope this letter writer feels that the $13 a week of HER money that she is allowed to keep will make a big difference in her life and will bring down the rich! BTW my name capitalizes RICH as in sarcasm! Taxing rich people is taxing my job into oblivion. Make no mistake, when the "rich" boss has to pay higher taxes, he is going to look out for himself and take care of his own business and family. He might fail, but only AFTER we workers beat him to the welfare office! |

3 The funny part about all this is that you are complaining about your STATE taxes, Micheal M is protesting based on his fear of an imaginary tax increase in 2010 and now you are complaining about DEFICIT spending? We were in TRILLIONS of dollars debt before Obama was even in office. Or does deficit spending not count when it goes to Haliburton? http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w6/EricAll... |

3 Huh? I think you (and many others) completely misunderstand the purpose of the Tea Party protests. They were just as much about excessive wasteful government spending as they were taxes. In your opinion, Bush's billion dollar yearly deficit spending was bad, but Obama's trillion dollar yearly deficit spending is OK? PS - Obama's deficit spending is STILL going to Haliburton. |

1 If I misunderstand the so-called non-political purpose of these "Tea-Bag" protests then I have a bridge to no-where I'd like to sell you. http://moderateleft.com/wp-content/uploads/20... Yep. Looking at these pictures I can see this is ALL about taxes. I can also pretty much guarantee that although you view Bushes deficit spending as "bad", you were not protesting it. /as far as Haliburton. Obama inherited that stinker -- now it's up to him clean it up |

1 Seriously... that's your counter argument? A cherry-picked picture from a site called moderateleft.com ? The old Bush did it first, so it's OK for Obama to do worse defense? Wow... If you register and search my post history here, you'll see I've been one of the biggest whiners about all the bailouts and excessive state and federal spending. |

2 It appears you have been since you are confused about the tea party movement. There are always two constants with every U.S. regime: 1. They like to waste vast amounts of our money. 2. They like to think they know better than us on how to live our lives. People are fed up, and they are FINALLY starting to do something about it. It has been a long time coming. This pittance of a tax break is not nearly enough to bribe the American people from being outraged at what they have seen the government doing. It is hard to call it a tax cut since with how much money they are spending there will be practically no alternative to raising taxes in the near future. But of course, this is exactly what big government supporters are counting on. Democrats and Republicans are essentially the same. They are corrupt opportunists who care more about their party and themselves than they do the job they are elected to do and the people they are supposed to represent. It is all of our fault that this has happened. The tea party movement and state sovereignty movements are the beginning of a vital revolution to force the federal government back into its originally intended roll. I hope for the sake of all freedom and opportunity loving Americans that it succeeds. |

2 The truth about Obama's budget. People at the tea parties are upset about big government, and wasteful deficit spending that just keeps growing and is accompanied by more and more intrusion into state and local governments. People perceive, I think accurately, that a vast amount of our money is going to help those who have been irresponsibe in their own lives. Pam, how do you think we will pay for all this if not through either increased taxes or printing more money? Those in Washington think that by throwing us a bone - a joke of a "tax cut" - they will keep us from looking closely at what they are actually doing. They are wrong. |

All people in the U.S. will pay more tax dollars to the goverment than they currenly do. It does not matter how much money you make or how much you believe obama's populist lies. In some form or another you will pay more taxes. The current spending rate far surpasses the spending of the last decade. While the Bush administration and Congress also spent too much money, it was childs play compared to what is currently going on and what will go on in the future.
