Why exactly should the government (meaning the taxpayers) fund someone's abortion? If it is for medical issues then yes, it should be covered. If it is because someone just wants an abortion then they should pay themselves. I hope viagra is not covered either. I don't think the taxpayers should pay for someone's viagra either.
It is covered.

If this is the tradeoff-how many more unwanted babies? How many more unsafe abortions? We'll see.
Well, we know that Roe v. Wade isn't going away. What these people don't understand is that they've been paying for some abortions already! This is nothing new. I am anxious to see what the Senate does next.

Very true. Read some of the fundamentalist parrot-posts on the forum, and see how many of them hurl insults, obscenities and threats of eternal damnation or earthly demise. In my view, biker chick is way less of an annoyance than they.

If it becomes a NO funding...there are still clinics and it will be ok....
And you're right, this is nothing new-but the Repugnicans don't get the bigger picture WITH ANYTHING!!!(And some Dems too).

Please GOD (or whatever higher power one subscribes to, if any) let the Senate dump this monstrosity in the trash and require the whole process be started over. This time, lets have some foresight, compassion, and COGITATION involved, instead of cobbling together 2000+ pages of gobbledegook and ramming it down the collective throats of the American people.

it was not the reublicans who cut medicaid by 500 billion dollars.

and it was the dems who refused to vote for abortion funding in the bill that took that out .

the dems have a majority , they did not need one rebuplican vote to pass this bill, but they did need the 40 + democrats who said they would vote against it if it contained funding for abortion .

blame your own party , and then go vote for them again , dumb assed liberals , its all about party line ! LOL

I do realize both sides have behaved badly. I just happened to see your post on BC at the top of this page. I don't believe in eternal damnation and no other person can judge others in that way. As for BC, she just runs her mouth like a street punk. So in reality, I just ignore the damnation threats and the insults.

I don't know if we can even trust the government to run our healthcare. They couldn't even help ensure there'd be enough vaccine for their dreaded h1n1 plague.

It's not a plague and you can blame the pharmaceutical companies.
I think that might be Glaxo and Roche...not the government this time.

OK, Maxie...just my two cents or three.

They (government) couldn't help getting the vaccine to the public any faster.
We all the blame the government for many things-personally, if I could blame Bush for this vaccine screw up, I would..but sadly, I can't :)

It makes me think of a Seinfeld episode where Kramer was interviewing 3 homeless people for a rickshaw job. One of the homeless just kept shouting, "the government!"

The government does make a convenient scapegoat.

I'd have to cheat and google that one.

You're right.does make a convenient scapegoat.

Kramer is no longer everyone's darling....although I am very willing to cut some people slack...he's one and Andre Agassi is another..so far.

I guess if you're a celeb then there's always a chance of slipping and blurting out something in public that you didn't mean to say out loud.

What'd Andre Agassi do?

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Aquarius

Keep calm and all will be well. You're feeling slightly fraught because there are so many demands on your time, and it won't help if you're trying to juggle some last-minute chores with some fun-filled social events. Get others to lend you a hand, or tell yourself that perfection is not an option right now and that you'll have to scale down your preparations accordingly.
