Bubba Clinton gave a Pardon to Dodd's friend, Downe. Bubba also gave a pardon to that other outlaw, Rich.. Birds of a feather flock together. Dodd is Royalty, leave him alone, he is untouchable. What is happening to all those millions of dollars that Dodd recieved from the Financial industry when he ran for President?

Kevin, Your revelations regarding Senator Dodd are truly breathtaking. Even if half of them in this article are correct, I think that there is enough here plus the Countrywide questions for Senator Dodd to be censured by the Senate. At the very least, he must be removed from the Senate Banking Committee due to his comments regarding nationalization. More specifically, the public can no longer accept Senator Dodd's explanations for his mortgage activity. If Senator Dodd does not provide full disclosure this week about his personal finances, Connecticut voters (and The Courant) must demand that he resigned from the Senate. Senator Dodd likes to discuss his concern for the 'people'. Well, the people are really suffering now trying to manage through a week economy in advance of BHO's planned sharp tax increase on the 'wealthy'. Senator Dodd, on the other hand, is living like royalty without a concern in the world. 30+ years of being in Congress appears to have jaded Connecticut's senior Senator to a point whereby the people who hired him for the job can no longer identify with him. As I have said in the past, if there was a poster child for term limits for elected officials it is Senator Dodd. I hope that all Connecticut voters, regardless of party affiliation, can voice their concerns about Senator Dodd's ethics challenges. We deserve so much better from our elected representatives.

Rennie it seems, has a relentless obsession with Chris Dodd. How the hell does he have time to do anything positive. Dodd at least has a record of service, innovation in legislation, and concern for others. Rennie on the other hand has only a record of negativity, and of being a vigilante.

The press has an obligation to investigate and write about our political leaders. Dodd has his good points but it doesn't excuse personal gain due to his elected office. His Dad gave service to his country at the war crimes trial, that didn't give him the right to use campaign funds for personal use.

Mr. Rennie, Great job! Dodd has had too easy a time in this whole Countywide mess! I can only imagine how The Hartford Courant would had treated Sen Dodd if he was a Republican! 2010 we need to vote Dodd out...he totally took advantage of his position to secure such a sweetheart deal from Countywide. Keep the fire on Dodd's feet Mr. Rennie

Excellent report. I don't know why Connecticut voters have allowed the Dodd family to represent them for the past sixty plus years.

Is NYC your ISP address or your home address? In either case you seem to be unaware of the Courant's infamous incuriosity regarding Dodd's nefarious activities. "Relentless Rennie's" reportage of these outrages represents the only such Courant coverage. If you're looking for positive coverage, or malign neglect, look everywhere else in the paper. Anyone who ever disparaged Rowland, deservedly so, should have exponentially more animus for Dodd. A man who advances only his personal and party interests, not those of the people of Connecticut. Save your constructed outrage for something real. Thank you Kevin Rennie for your work and thanks to the Courant for at least allowing his voice to continue in this publication.

Kevin, Here is another angle to look at the story from: How much, if any, of the Dodds'(the Senator and Jackie Clegg) income is being shielded from U.S. tax authorities due to the residence in Ireland. We know that Ireland has the lowest corporate tax. Maybe their personal income tax is low too? Anyways, it would certainly be worth an examination into.

Rennie is a hack, who is only concerned with self promoting himself. He's on a witch hunt to bring down Dodd. This as his other accusations and articles has nothing to it. How many of us (readers) have at one time, gone in on a vacation home (rent, buy, lease) with friends or family in an attempt to defray the cost? In the end, Dodd decided to purchase the cottage on his own and buy out his friend; what's wrong with that? Clearly, he paid the value of the property. What has become clear in all of Rennie's articles, as far as Rennie is concerned, is that Dodd is guilty of being Dodd. There is nothing that Dodd could do or say that would satisfy Rennie. These articles and attacks on Dodd are partisan, political and have much, much more about Rennie than Dodd.

The only work Dodd has done the past 30 is entirely for himself. I have seen him in public on several occassions and I have noticed the hubris, arrogance, and smugness in an instant! With those traits I think he'd fit in perfectly somewhere in Obama's cabinet! Come Hartford Courant-treat Dodd like he's a Republican!

It gets worse and worse for this useless Dodd, why doesn't he just resign and save himself the embarrassment of being censured like his father was.

Courant says he's holding a financial aid and college planning seminar at MCC today at 3:00 p.m. on how to plan for college savings. Maybe he'll divulge some of his crooked benefactors for all of us to use.

Hey, leave the guy alone! He has great hair, and comes from a family that is entitled to their power, like all those rich, northeast, liberal white guys. He can thank his lucky stars he is not a republican, thats for sure!
