Looked like Springsteen visited the hair club or is taking a hair growth drug. I do not know 58 year olds who have more hair up front than they did at 48 or the tour two years ago. Springsteen is great but I could have written this review 2 days ago, it's the same review he always gets. I always thought when Springsteen spoke he is rather inarticulate because of the fact that he tries to be so profound and deep that he ends up really saying nothing.

Jack - they are called hair plugs - AND WHO CARES?? It is not his hair that makes him one of the best live acts on earth!!!

Don't you just wish that Springsteen would, as they say, "shut up and sing!"
I love his music, but his politics are silly and adolescent. Come on Bruce, just sing! |

One of the best shows we have ever seen at the Civic Center BRUCE is still the BOSS.

I wish I went last night. But, there were 2 tickets and I was the third man in the rotation. I am really pumped to get "Magic".
As for his politics, our Constitution allows him to say it. |

..."Orwellian moment when what's true can be made to seem like a lie and what's a lie can be made to seem true, and we've witnessed the consequences over the past six years."
I've got news for you Bruce: You are part and parcel to this-This is EXACTLY what you libs have been doing for years, and you have been a willing participant, twisting the truth for your agenda. Slowly but surely, be it politically correct speech, where we are afraid to say what's on are mind, for fear of being attacked or ostracized, or a kid bringing a butter knife to school and getting expelled, this is the Orwellian society YOU are manipulating and leading us to. Not the people you enthusiastically blame. I didn't go to the concert to hear your commentary, I went to hear your songs and listen to you and your great, great band SING and play them. Don't treat us like children, let us draw our own conclusions from your work. A GREAT show, none the less. |

This dude is overrated much like he was in the 1970s. Bob Seger is superior. Seen em both this year. I mean Bruce did put on a decent show, but Bob Seger in Worcester was way better. Maybe Bruce should take ten years of like Bob did, maybe then he could rock

Rock-n-roll iconography does not require you to check your beliefs or opinions at the door. No one - NO ONE - has worked harder over the past generation to establish himself as an artist who is as hardworking, talented, and true to his craft as anyone who has ever lived. Everything he has he has earned. Including his voice and his opinions.
If Bruce Springsteen - an American, a husband, and a father of three - feels like sharing his extreme dissatisfaction with the cheats and liars who have run this country into the ground over the last 7 years, I for one am not going to stand in his way. I am going to rather choose to applaud the man. And if you 27-percenters out there -who still for some reason choose to believe these people who have led us down this wretched path - decide to hear the 3 minutes of political rap Bruce gave last night louder than the 150 minutes of brilliant rock-n-roll, well, I'm really not sure you were at the right show. Perhaps Toby Keith will come play one of the casinos sometime soon. "Shut up and sing?" Give me a flipping break! You're using talking points from 5 years ago. And mercifully, they don't apply or have any relevance in this country anymore. But Bruce still does. Long may he rock on. |

Personally I can not stand this guy. I don't think he has one ounce of talent at all. He has the nastiest raspiest voice next to Bob Dylan. To each is own. personally i wouldn't pay a penny to see him.

Let me repeat this, so the "I'm correct and you're not if you think differently than I" group, can perhaps, understand:
..."I didn't go to the concert to hear your commentary, I went to hear your songs and listen to you and your great, great band SING and play them. Don't treat us like children, let us draw our own conclusions from your work." Isn't that the more dignified and mature way for Mr. S to convey his message?? How about letting your audience draw their OWN conclusions instead of being nudged on and manipulated by the performer? Seems fair to me. |

I went to the Springsteen Concert and it was a terrific performance. I have seen "Bruce" a few times and he never disappoints when he performs. Much of the credit needs to be given to the East Street Band who drive the passion and intensity in his songs.
As for his political views, I don't agree with with them, nor do I care. I just block them out and let the music and his performance stand for itself. It was a great night and the crowd was wonderful. It was just nice to listen to some real rock and roll music instead of the weekly trash promoted as music by the media. |

After living in the next town over from where Bruce lives for most of my 36 years. What musician will start to play a piano at a local restaurant while having dinner there, go to local night club and jam with a local band, and donate to the community?
Last nights show great despite he started late and ended too early. His Jersey shows are better!! |

In 1976 I discovered Bruce Springsteen. A small venue, tickets bought the morning of the show in a local record store for $6.- late that night - 3000 people and Bruce. I sat in the 5th row enjoying the music - Night (Opening song) Kitty's Back, Wild Billy's Circus, For You, Thunder Road, Backstreets, 20 minute Jungleland, Rosie - as he introduced his band and many more songs off of his first three albums. Not to be disappointed plays several encores including Born to Run.
Now 31 years later, 25 more albums - yes a total of 28 albums Bruce opens in Hartford Ct.- Not Jersey or Philly, Hartford. Songs included many off his new album - Magic. However he reached back in the past to revive the Ties That Bind, Darkness on the Edge of Town, Badlands and She's the One. Bruce also belting out recent hits like The Rising and Waiting on a Sunny Day. But Wait..........Born to Run encore - 30 years later..........YES. Bruce actually shelved Born to Run for many years in an effort to get away from the pop world of music. You can run, but you cannot hide. Bruce can play pop, rock, blues, soul or anything he likes. So why am I writing this? As Bruce finished his encore set and walked to the front of the stage and said good night - I looked at her and said it's over. She said no way. Yes Bruce actually played a complete rehearsed concert. I walked away feeling cheated, no 2nd or 3rd encores, no singing into the night - The next morning I realized, I wasn't cheated - I was just getting another dose of "Bruce Juice". Cheated - I'm hating myself for thinking that way - Spoiled - That's the truth. Bruce has provided me with 30+ years of concerts and albums. He reached deep into the night at many concerts I attended - 3 & 4 hour ones. At 58 - Bruce still brings his talent to the venue. |

Great review! Even greater concert!!! I was there last night. BRUCE!!!!!

I didn't say he had no Constitutional right to blather on about his far-Left politics. I simply suggested that he "shut up and sing." |

To Ellington Resident- For someone who can't stand Bruce springsteen why would you even waste your time reading the article or even commenting? Get a life!
The Boss rocked the HCC last night! Looked better than ever. |

What's the big deal? No need to rip Bruce apart about his hair or his politics. He is a musician that has reached the top and can have some rights to what he wants to say and what he wants to do with his hair. He has the money to do as he wants. He is just great and writes awesome songs. GREAT CONCERT!!!(again)

absolutely amazing...my first and hopefully not the last springsteen show...wish he had played a little more of the old stuff, but all in all...loved it

Bruce played so few of his true classics - the first four albums he did that made his reputation - the show would have been a waste of time for me. Throw in the lame and banal twaddle of paranoid lefty politics and you've got a wasted evening (not getting wasted in the streets, unfortunately). Nice to see Silvio and The Big Man back in the band.
