Full story: InYork

Let's hope that it helps. That intersection can be a real zoo!

And while they're at it, how about adding dual turn lanes from eastbound 30 to northbound Rosevelt/Bull?

Think it's bad now, wait until Memorial Hospital relocates to behind the Weis.

Look, to be honest, there are few if any intersections that you don't wait 2-3 turns of the light to get on Rt. #30.

2 or 3 lights cycles?? HAHA, have you ever tried to turn left into Delco Plaza on a Saturday afternoon? Last time I tried that I sat through 6 light cycles! The problem was created YEARS ago when the roads were laid out. York county doesn't plan, they just waste our tax money trying stuff. If you want to see a real road system with little congestion, go to Disney World, they got it right!

What we need is a "high way" that goes from West Manchester Mall to Mt. Zion that bypasses all the junk down below on business 30. I know it would cost a ton, but think how nice that would be!

They need to trim down the hill by the bowling alley entrance/exit. You have to guess when you can pull out of the bowling alley because those college kids are always in a rush to leave.

Yes, it was supposed to be a bypass around York. Now we need a bypass for the bypass. The problem is, all the available land to build a second bypass on has been developed, most of it as housing.

Hey, I remember York roads. Two to six light cycles to make a turn? Not bad.

Here in Guam there is only one main road cutting thru this 30 mile long Island. Talk about grid lock.

Wait, move to the Philippines. No traffic lights, mostly. Ofcourse there are many killed each day because of this...but u never wait on a light change. Then they shoot you also in broad daylight. Ah rob you while your sitting in traffic. Try to sell you anything and everything while sitting in traffic. MMMM let me back in York.

The last major upgrade to RT30 was a joke. They spent millions of tax dollars doing studies and still did it wrong. Apparently they did not pay attention to where there were growth areas with connections to Rt30 or the types of traffic that use the intersections. We now have inadequate turn lanes at Torinita street for the vehicles going to the incinerator and other businesses north of Rt30. Roosevelt Avenue has inadequate turn lanes to support the businesses and housing that have been built north of RT30. Sherman street has 2 turn lanes for no apparent reason.

You could go on and on about the idiotic road development that has gone on in York county of late. My favorite is putting in medians all over the place to prevent left turning. Brilliant. Now we are more like New Jersey. That's what we all wanted because it is so nice there. If you're going to fix an intersection fix Mt Zion/East Prospect. Heading south on 24 you can sit through that light 10 times. Better yet, just put a median there.

Finally!!!! Now, just be a little more generous with the light time. Barely three cars through the left turn just doesn't cut it.

Why don't they do any of this late at night instead of the middle of the day when the traffic is already a nightmare?

Now if only people would stop going through the left turn light when it turns RED! You know, when there's 50 cars turning left on the green, then yellow and it changes to red but the last couple cars still keep turning... even though the opposing traffic has a green light to go ahead. And wait! There's more! There's no room for the left turners because traffic is backed up, so they BLOCK the intersection, sitting there so nobody else can get through... I go through this EVERY SINGLE DAY at the intersection of Board and Church Roads and I am SOOOOOO tired it. What makes it OK to get into an intersection when there's no place for you to go?

Rt 30 traffic thru the lights is only going to get worse because of the increase in population in this area of the state not to mention the increase in truck traffic thanks to higher tolls on the PA turnpike .A bypass is needed but unfortunately like what was said before the land needed for such a project now is filled with housing developments .The state can do all the traffic studies they want Rt30 congestion is here to stay because of all the commercial development along it .
