Let's take into account what Mr. Gumbs has endured so far.

#1. He took a human life, a mother and a wife to a family due to a stupid decision. He will have to live with that fact.

#2. He has served 6 years in a juvenile detention facility.

#3. There won't be a place in Southeastern PA that he will be able to work due to that stupid decision.

In saying this, I am not demeaning the act or the effect of the act. My heart goes out to that family. What I am saying is that at some point, you have paid your debt to society. I get the fact that murder is murder, but this kid was not some gang banger who was constantly in trouble with the law.

I don't think his worst punishment is time served, I think his worst punishment will be dealing with a stupid decision that was made when he was 15 years old.

<quoted text> you have to be kidding me. You think throwing a 15lb piece of ice over a bridge onto a car is a dumb prank? Your calling everyone else nitwits here and teh real idiot is you!!!! you freaking people who say he didnt think it would kill someone just a dent in the car or make them lock up their brakes. Lets say and yes i half way agree maybe he didnt think the ice would fall on a women directly in a car but he had to know that even the scare of it falling could cause a wreck that would have killed someone. I do understand the levels of murder and i understand the terms mens rea and culpability. You however do not. No he should not get the chair but he should not be getting out yet either. That family suffered a life sentence and people like you think we should just let these kids go. I would be willing to bet and am 100% certain you would feel so liberal if it was your spouse. I would also bet though your preaching this crap that your also one of the idiots who wanted to lock up the Allentown cop and throw away the key because a child was killed because of an accident when reporting to a call for a man with a gun. Your just another liberal thinking idiot. You and the guy who thinks the word vermin is racist should go back to the universe you came from.
Hey Einstein, let's see how successful you are in dropping a 15 lb. chunk of ice from 15 feet and have it hit the windshield of a car going over 55 mph. You have one attempt to do it. As perfect as you must be, you probably would have turned into ice cubes and fall harmlessly in to their beverage cups.

People like you are so quick to judge, but then again with your "walking on water" gig, why wouldn't you?

Nonsense. Everyone knows a piece of snow, even a basketball sized piece, shatters on impact when dropped even a few feet. The kid was idiot and picked the wrong piece of snow.
Wow. I don't think your reply needs any explanation for it truly shows your stupidity.

Snow is different than ice. He dropped a chunk of ice. Ice is more solid than snow. Ice does NOT shatter on impact like snow. He did more than merely pick the wrong piece of snow.

Maybe you should go back and try to better comprehend the incident before saying the thug merely picked the wrong piece of snow...

Was your wife ever murdered? If the answer is no, then be quiet.

You're looking at it through the eyes of a responsible adult. A 15-year old SHOULD know the potential damage the act could cause, but doesn't necessarily have the same thought process as an adult would.
This is the basic premise of kids doing "stupid pranks". They're old enough to know better but the brain of a minor just doesn't go through the same thought process as an adults would. As they mature, the thought process changes, and irresponsible, impulsive young people hopefully become responsible adults who think things through before acting on them.
BS!!! I was a 15 year old kid and never would have done this because I knew it had the potential for causing this type of mess just like I knew I could get killed behind the wheel of a car when I was 16 and started driving. We cant keep using this age crap as an excuse. I have kids and I know how smart kids are these days and I know what these kids learn in school and what their thought processes are. I agree his intent was probably not to do this but he was very neglegent if not completly reckless in his actions. Another 5 years should have been given

Nobody is arguing that he wasn't reckless. I'm simply trying to explain that the brain of a 15-year old acts differently than that of an adult. Believe what you want.

As for another 5 years, he was tried and convicted as a Juvi, they held him until his 21st birthday, the maximum sentence.

Besides, he's served 6 more years than OJ who brutally committed 1st degree murder twice. He'll have served more time than most adult DUI's convicted of vehicular manslaughter. What would 5 more years have done? Made you feel better? That's not how it works.

This punk must be your kid since you are wasting so much time defending his sorry a*s*s.

The little puke threw a chunk of ice at a car and it killed someone. It was not a mistake, but a malicious and sadistic act; a choice that he consciously made. He deserves a life full of misery. Since he was charged as a JV he basically has a mulligan, a do over. However, I'm sure that he will continue to get in trouble because a leopard doesn't change his spots.

People like you disgust me. Have you ever heard of a second chance? What was his criminal record before this? Have you ever made a mistake or an error in judgement?

You are a pathetic excuse for a human being. If everyone lived your credo, then I assume that no one would ever receive a second chance.

I am happy for you that you live in your own little Utopian world.

****Once again kids, it was a heinous error in judgement that many parties will have to live with. The kid has served his time. Let him attempt to be a productive member of society before labeling him a scumbag, delinquent, or some other negative stereotype. Everyone deserves a second chance.*****

Perhaps you'd feel more comfortable in a theocracy or dictatorship? That way, you could justify wishing death on those who disagree with you.
In America, it just makes you look like a fool.
This is no longer America. That country died years ago. As for wishing death upon someone, you are guilty as well. By supporting the release of this murdering scum you have said in essence that it's ok for him to walk the streets and risk the lives of decent law abiding citizens. How many people must be victimized before liberal pukes like you admit your wrong? My guess, alot more. As for looking like a fool, fool is defined as "a person lacking in judgement or prudence". Prudence is defined as "caution or circumspection as to danger or risk". Tell me who is the fool again. Is it worth the risk to society to give this murderer a second chance? NO, it's not.

Also, my point was, adults are the ones most often associated with the taking of human life and in that context his actions were adult in nature. Your opinion of me matters very little so if your think I am lying I could care less. The facts here are cut and dried, mongrel killed, mongrel should pay with HIS life.
No, I believe you. Although, I'd still love to know how your parents managed to raise you "correctly" and in such a way that you always acted as an adult and never made any childish mistakes. In any case, I agree with you that the facts are clear, however I don't think he should pay with "his life" for a mistake he made as a boy. I guess he wasn't as priveleged as you to be born to your perfect parents. Does that mean he should spend the rest of his life in a prison cell? I don't think so.

All one has to examine is the Neanderthal attitude of so-called adults on these boards and it becomes quite obvious why we have children acting so immature. Look at what they're exposed to growing up. Listen to yourselves.

I sure wish none of your children or loved ones suffers an adolescent lapse of judgement. It would be interesting to see how you would act if it happened to your kid, or your niece or nephew.

Wishing eternal misery on another human being, a human who made a terrible mistake as a minor, displays an attitude that does nothing to help further the human cause. It's barbaric, it does nothing to further our society. I guess every time a kid makes an awful mistake, we just throw them away, huh?

I can assure you I don't know this kid or any member of his family. Unlike you animals, I'm just a normal guy living a normal life.

If we are going to apply labels to people based off of one event, how about we apply you with the label moron?

Do you honestly think he tried to kill that woman? If he was, then the label of murderer would apply.

Based on the posts I've seen on this board, the IQ in the Lehigh Valley is dropping quickly.
