What is the condition of the passenger in Shannon Quail's vehicle?

she was in critcal condition last night
and went into surgery. she got her spleen
removed and they had to drill a hole in her
skull to release pressure. she is in a drug
induced coma but opened her eyes a little
last night and slightly moved her fingers.
they think something in her back is broken
but they won't know until she wakes up.

To the families of the girls involved in the I79 accident. Don't know you or your children but arrived on the scene shortly after. My prayers and thoughts go out to you all in this time of terrible sorrow. My 17 year old wants to drive on I 79 and I just can't bring myself to allow it. I am so srry for what this family is going threw I just lost my 19 year old daughter nov 11 08 in a car crash in clay twp butler . there is nothing anyone can say to take the pain away.I am prayen for the other girls recovery. and thinking of the family of shannon.

I went past the scene last night and started crying. I hate to see stuff like that and was very concerned all night about what happened. My prayers are with you and your family at this time of sorry! Have faith in God that he WILL help you through this sadness! GOD BLESS

Has the state of PA taken any of this blame upon themselves for failing to
errect proper guardrails along the highway? In driving this route daily it is not hard to see that there are no guardrails preventing a car from going into oncming northbound traffic at high rates of speed. This tradgedy could possibly have been avoided if there had only been a barrier to stop shannon and dana from crossing the median that day...
Is it possible to look into this to prevent such a horrific thing from happening again to another family.

I must drive past the accident scene every day on the way to work and see the spot my baby died. I too have wondered why in the world are there guard rails in stretches of straightaways but not on this curve, would have saved her life.

I contacted the traffic engineering unit and was told they do have median cable guide rail planned for this area to be installed either later this year or in early 2010. Its a bad turn comming down that hill...

9 months since this terrible tragedy and still no barrier to keep this from happening again. How many more times does this need to happen before PA does something to prevent it....

There are barriers up all over the place in 30 mph speed zones.. For whatever God forsken reason there wasn't one on a huge bend with cars traveling 70 mph. I have to live without my youngest sister and my family has to suffer FOREVER. Thank you Penndot.
