Great article! I am one of a relatively small group of barbershoppers under the age of 40. I spend a lot of my time and energy trying to think of new ways to try and get more guys my age and younger introduced to barbershop and as the article suggests, my efforts are moderate at best. Hopefully Gen y will be more open to the wonderful sound and fellowship that barbershop has to offer than Gen X seems to be. The new trend in having youth choruses will certainly help this. Kudos to standardbred for hosting guest nights and singing in the high school on a regular basis. Keep up the good work!

I was a member of the Hanover Standardbred Chorus back when I was in middle school and high school and I loved it. Those guys were great friends and sounding boards to me. I'm probably the youngest memeber they ever had. I miss them very much! I'm a bass singer and always will be. I now live in Southwest Virginia with my wife and four kids. I would like to find a chapter closer to me.Thanks for the memories, you'll never find a group of guys like that, I really learned a lot about life and death from them and how to deal with each. Many Thanks, A former Member and Friend.
