Area Trick-or-Treat nights set
#1 Oct 22, 2010
Thank you for the list. I love loading my kids into the van and riding from place to place and having them get candy from everyone.
It looks like we will have to take Friday off next week. Oh well.

Why make it so confusing? If you don't read the paper, you're out of luck. It should be as simple as this: Halloween is on Oct. 31. End of story. Now where's my candy!
#3 Oct 22, 2010
It should be on Halloween night ONLY. Then we would not get all of the people from other areas. Stay in your own towns please!

I can never understand it, back in Illinois, Halloween is Halloween. Never been on any other day, trick or treated that evening, never any problem.
I'm still shaking my head over the 26th. A Tuesday night, yet Halloween is Sunday. Go figure.

Who is responsible for those township not having Halloween on SUNDAY night like all the rest of the townships/boroughs in the county? Of course, it is your supervisors.
Actually, they all should have done it in the daylight hours or at least earlier evening, as it is dangerous for the kiddies to be out after dark, plus school is Monday!
And while I also appreciated the list -- those areas not doing it at the same time as the Majority, will create the problems stated in the comments - a bunch of OUT OF NEIGHBORHOOD moochers.
I, for one, always Loved Halloween but the thing that spoils it for all is when you are overwhelmed by "strangers" not from your neighborhood!!

Halloween is on the 31st, the rest of those nights are just "Free Candy Nights!" courtesy of Pennsylvania township bureaucrats.
Townships don't have the balance of common sense and guts to simply celibate a national holiday WITH the nation. Dumb, just plain non-thinking DUMB!

I stopped giving out candy after the 1st year of living in West Manheim because I do not believe in giving out candy on any other night than Halloween and I can't afford to give out candy to the kids being "bused" into the neighborhood.

the reason they changed trick or treat to weeknights is because people were bitching because they kept seeing cars with maryland tags in the area. halloween is for the kids who cares where they come from just hand candy out until you run out

dam those marylanders.
#11 Oct 22, 2010
The best part about riding my kids to all the different areas is the beer in the cooler in the car.
#12 Oct 22, 2010
For those of us who live in rural areas or on farms - I say shame on you for not wanting to give candy to kids even though they are not from your neighborhood.
Last year some old folks gave my kids (3 and 5 years old)a bunch of crap because we did not live in their neighborhood. Lighten up people and shame on the old guy for making a 5 year old feel bad for trick or treating.
Any by the way - it is ridiculous not to have Halloween on the actual night.

LMBO, great response! Too many don't care that kids along with their families participate in local events such as Parades! This gives the kids an opportunity to participate in Trick-or-Treat. Besides, if we were all at the Parades & other events we wouldn't be home to hand out the candy. The Schedule is an excellent idea.
