driving car into home

Can anyone help with this - older red Geo Tracker drives into a home causing great DAMAGE TO HOUSE AND VAN then leaves the scene.
This happened 1:00 am on thursday morning on Hudson street-car was traveling from Montana street onto hudson st - never stopped until hitting home then drove through property damaging Van and other property - never thinking of the possible injury to the family inside.?? Is this common in this area. Please help if you can....... Homeowner.
