Give me a break. She did it 4 times. How can that be a mistake? Look if I stole some money then got caught, repaid the money, would I go to jail? You bet. It's time we set an example to the elected officials that rip us off. She needs to get her butt kicked out of office and a few days in jail. They are not above the law.

To some degree, I see your points, however if you read the article, the Las Cruces DA says the violations are only misdemeanors. I don't foresee her going to jail. What I do predict is that her political career is over. I don't believe she can -- or will -- win re-election.

Innocent mistakes or not, I call it inexecusable actions by an elected public official.

How many people do you think run for office and know all the legal and illegal issues of what to do and not what to do? We do not teach our children American Government in school anymore. How can we expect to have leaders if we do not raise leaders? We as a society have not taught a standard of manners anymore. The voters must take some responsibilites here for voting in some one was just plain ingnorant of political procedures.
Bottom line, lets get American government back into the curriculm before we go down as a nation.

So, the lynch mob is out again? I'll bet every one of you has done something, whether it be to family, friends, or business. Too bad you are not busy taking care of your own business. If you want to be in the mix, why don't you run for the "chisme police".

Unfortunately for Mary Ann, when she became a public official and began charging per deim expenses against public accounts, her business became our business! What she does in her private life is one thing, but what she does as a Grant County Commissioner is open to public scrutiny and comment.

Whatever, Mary Ann Sedillo's "relative". Your logic is illogical. It is every taxpaying citizen's business.

Bitch be stealin' my money!

I honestly want to believe she committed honest mistakes, but four times?

If charges are filed against her and she goes to trial, she will have to explain -- under oath -- why there were four incidents of double dipping.

Many Grant County taxpayers will be watching and reading what transpires with the Las Cruces district attorney and how she handles this case.

Stay tuned.

Mary Ann Sedillos should resign. She can no longer be effective.

Of course, the lifestyle says she needs the $$$.

I am not a relative of Mary Ann's, only an observer, however, I feel too many people are throwing stones...everyone cries about the taxpayer"s money. Why not do something about Penny Park fire, the gangster problem, the random beatings, the letting someone go after they get a DUI, etc......get my drift???????"

Mary Ann Sedillos, Carrillo, etc ..... this kind of arrogance eventually leads to "I deserve all I can get" attitude that got her where she is today. I for one am not surprised just happy that it's no longer my tax dollars that she is paying herself with. I love this forum because it validates I was right to move out of Silver City it will never change. Do not hold your breath that she will come to justice. I thought the new Californios who moved into town would change the politics being that they are more "civilized" or so they think.

I want to know how her husband the county treasurer can be bonded, when his filed for bankruptcy. Being unbonded means the county can kick him out. They did it in Hildago when their treasurer couldnt get bonded.

You are talking about New Mexico. New Mexico does not operate according to its own damn rules.
Bill Richardson has been continually sued since he became governor and he is still governor.
He's just a carpetbagger who moved into New Mexico after D.C. was finished with him and his good buddy Bill Clinton. MaryAnn and husband are small time crooks as are the CYF gals who stole a half a million dollars of your tax dollars.

We have a new county manager? Really? I thought Jon Paul Saari was (is) our county manager. Are you sure you're not talking about Luna County? I know a new manager was hired there a couple of months ago. I don't know his name or anything else about him.

This is way to funny...Mary Ann should be investigated in all her past county government positions as well as her employees. It's unfortunate that the people in this county are so naive and can't see the writing on the walls. Typical small town Hispanic bullshit "It's not who you are...it's who you know"! I find great pleasure in seeing this woman fall from her imaginary world. The world according to Mary Ann what a joke! I love seeing those who live their lives with the Motto; "what goes around, comes around" that it finally takes a bite right out of their own ASS! Her past should never be forgotten, manipulating the system and her involvement with known felons speaks for itself. I just hope they dig so deep that they find all of the past as well. I don't think she'll be able to give a blow-job to get out of this one. Well done Mary Ann, thanks for not letting me down, your a class act!

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Aquarius

Unfortunately it won't take much to get your wires crossed, especially if you're trying to keep track of your Christmas preparations. It's hard to work out what still needs to be done. A member of the family is away with the fairies or is being completely fanciful. It's a pest because that sort of behavior can make you feel anxious and harassed.
