My Grandmother, Izeltha Hoisington (now Kiechle), grew up in Wimbledon from 1917-1935. She grew up with/was friends with Peggy Lee (stage name). Her father was a blacksmith in town. Their house was across the street from St Boniface Catholic Church. She has fond memories of driving a Model T, then a Model A, and taking a biplane ride with a barnstormer who landed there in the early 30s. She loved growing up there - and apparently I visited when I was a young child. My Grandmother still lives in Columbus, Ohio.

I find it interesting that you would mention that your grandmother grew up in the house across the street from the St. Boniface Catholic Church. I grew up in the house across the street from that church too! My parents still live there and I now live 5 houses from them. Yes the house is still there but looks totally different as they have added on and remodeled the whole place. My dad learned how to do telegraphy in the depot where Peggy Lee grew up and now that depot is a museum in her honor.
