Full story: GreenvilleOnline.com

If House lawmakers have their way in 2010, South Carolinians will be able to zoom 80 miles per hour instead of 70 along S.C. interstates.

If the limit was 80 then everyone would drive 90. At 90 a slight distraction can be disastrous. Roadway debris you could avoid at 50 becomes unavoidable, blow outs become fatal, and driving becomes exhausting.

Thats right, I drive on the interstate everymorning on my way to work and the speed limit is 65, I go 70 and still, people will pass me flying!!! if the speed limit increase to 80 it would be a bad idea, too many speeders out there. I think 65 is good, people always go 10 more anyway

Speed should be determined by the conditions of the road. Of course fascists like to have limits so they can generate revenue for their budgets.

You are surely not suggesting everyone drive whatever speed they want? That would be utter chaos and the ones who would die most are teens who think they are indestructible.

while it's true the locals use tickets as a cash cow traffic flow must be managed.

Drive to road conditions. Even been on the autobahn or Montana when they had no speed limit?

We need to start letting natural selection work.

I like the idea. In my experience, speed is not the problem - it's usually the idiot operating the vehicle. There are just too many unqualified drivers out there. They should make the tests harder and use IQs as a factor in obtaining a license. A driver's license should return to being a priviledge and not a right.

Sot the right of travel is a privilege now? What other fascist policies do you agree with?

I'd love to jump inside your head for a few minutes to see just what the hell happens in there if I knew I could get out. Traveling might be a right (I don't know if it's in the Constitution or not) but a license to drive a lethal weapon is a priviledge (or it used to be when I was growing up). If one is not capable of driving, why should it be a right to endanger those of us who can? If protecting myself against idiots is fascist, then a fascist I proudly am!!

John I took a double take on that statement.

Sot the right of travel is a privilege now? What other fascist policies do you agree with?

I wonder when it became a right... It's a total privilage to drive. Although some of those who lost there licences because of Driving un the influence doesn't seem to understand that. Yes they do. I forget they knows its there right to drive.

Maybe they think that if they lose to many points on there drivers licence that they Lose there RIGHT to drive.

In reality they lose there privilage to drive.

Then again many believe its our right that the government pays for our health care, subsidizes our work salaries, etc.

I guess someone tweaked a nerve.

So a "god-damned piece of paper" gives us rights?

At least you admit to being a fascist and ant-freedom. Do you have a picture of Mussolini on your wall as well?

You show your lack of intelligence by the use of the ad hominem.

You haven't achieved anything other than showing that your IQ is around 70.

Daily Horoscope for March 13

Aries

With both the Sun and the Moon in your twelfth house of secrets and solitude, you may feel under the weather. For some Rams, this is a very depressing time of the year as the Heavenly Lights have gone behind the curtain. However, this can be a time of powerful reflection and self analysis. It's time to give your spiritual batteries a complete overhaul. Honor your need for silence.
