My vote goes to WDIV - TV4 reporter Mara MacDonald.

I vote for the entire staff at WXYZ. The news on channel 7 is one of the very few things I miss about Detroit.

i don't watch much of the other channels because channel seven has it covered, for the most part. they are the best. consistent, reliable. any of the street reporters are ok with me.

GOOD NOW |
Judged: 1 The ones we don't watch!! My favorite sportscaster will always be Ray Lane, as for weathermen go (OK, meteorologist...) I'm with Jerry Hodak all the way, however I really do miss Sonny Eliot (Gramma used to call him 'Sonny Idiot')... As for newsanchors, I remember Jac Legoff, and John Kelly, and Bill Bonds, of course. Diana Lewis has been on the air for a LONG time, and I remember Erik Smith when he was younger doing the early morning newscasts. Mort Crim was a network reporter before landing the anchor spot on WDIV... Am I the only one that was quite dismayed when Channel 4 changed it's call letters from WWJ-TV to WDIV???? |

I know what you mean!! Detroit newscasts have always looked very professional, and not like it was broadcast from a back room... |
|
Judged: 1 His delivery sux, very unprofessional, and sounds like he is from a high school media class the way he fumbles the lines. Bill Bonds and Mort Crim were the best, Rich Fisher was good too. |

Judged: 1 I used to really like Doris Biscoe, but Channel 7 pushed her out once she celebrated 25 years with the station. It was a real shame. She was a true professional and an excellent reporter...a real class act. |
|
Judged: 1 Charles Pugh thats it! He irritates me to the point that when I hear him I change the channel. |

You must mean Charles Pugh. I don't like him too much either. He truly sounds like he's reading from the prompter, and he can't read! Like "THERE A.....WAS A.....UM....ACCIDENT......ON UH...I-94 AND UM I THINK IT WAS A TWO CAR ACCIDENT UM...AND THE PEOPLE, UH, I MEAN PERSON....WAS UH....HE WAS UH....SPEEDING....... |
|
|
I like Ruth Spencer.....Ruth to the Rescue!

My vote goes to WDIV - TV4 reporter Mara MacDonald

Mara MacDonald did a story last night about the drowned woman at the Bay View Yacht Club.(http://www.clickondetroit.com/video/14207036/... ) MacDonald's compassion for the family really came across when she said:
"What mother can stand the idea of her child alone in the cold, dark water?" I think that line is haunting. I agree azlam, she is the best TV reporter in Detroit. |
